It holds an A+ BBB grade, is BBB accredited, and carries 4.8 stars from 152 Google ratings. A 2026 customer wrote that they switched to Town Oil after a 2016 sales call from Tim Bonin, then president, and that the company is now managed under his daughter, Carin Oppelt. That customer said a quote for a new oil tank and boiler came directly from the president, and the tank and boiler are now installed. A 2026 customer in Wethersfield said Town Oil services their furnace and is their oil supplier, and a 2026 customer praised both the service staff and the oil delivery staff. A 2026 customer asked about an oil tank replacement, got someone out for a quote the next day, and had a team at the house within five days of the financing coming through. A 2026 customer said Jerry and his team removed an oil tank from the basement and protected the carpet, with no oil spilled. Over the past 60 years of home ownership, I have dealt with 5 different Hartford County oil companies, some of which were sold to out of state corporations. I got a cold sales call from Tim Bonin, then president, on a summer’s night in 2016. I switched oil companies that night based on that call. Now, Town Oil Co. is managed under Tim’s daughter, Carin Oppelt, and it is obvious that the fine leadership continues as it shows in the superb service technicians who are more level-headed, knowledgeable, professional, dependable, and polite as any I have found in any company. A+ for the service technicians and kind, efficient office staff. My recent quote and phone call for a new oil tank and boiler came directly from the president. After a lot of research for like products, I found that Town Oil’s quote was very fair, so the new tank and boiler are now installed. A family- owned heating business that comes through for me, no matter the weather, is everything I want. They are smart, dependable, understanding people who know their business. I am grateful for their help. 10 stars + ~ ~ ~ (and the oil they deliver is getting greener with an increasing percentage of biofuel - a plus!)
We've been with Town Oil since we bought the house over 10-yeaes ago. We have had no complaints whatsoever.
Service was excellent. I would give 5 stars but, the technician arrived 45 minutes early without a phone call first to see if it was possible to come so early.
