Summerlin Floors

A man building his first house went to Summerlin for tile and left knowing how to lay it himself — in a 2022 review he pointed out that the store stood to gain by doing the installation instead, and talked him through it anyway. Summerlin Floors is a woman- and family-owned flooring showroom on College Street in Amherst; its site says it has been handling flooring since 1968. The showroom carries carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, luxury vinyl, natural stone, glass tile and area rugs, and the company installs, consults on design and measures in-home for free across the Pioneer Valley. Stair runners turn up in three of its Google reviews: a custom runner over four flights of stairs in July 2024, a tricky install on old stairs in April 2024, and one put in by Brandon, who a June 2026 customer said cleaned up carefully afterward. Rugs are their own line of work. A customer who brought back a rug from Turkey had a pad cut to fit it in August 2025 and called the fit perfect; another bought two Persian-style rugs in April 2025. In an October 2024 review, homeowners whose seven-year-old shower had been leaking had Summerlin redo it and wrote that Alex explained the waterproofing system before any work started. Several reviewers describe the store the way the 2023 one did — informative, no pressure. The complaint to read is from March 2024. A customer wrote that the four-man crew installing his carpets treated him and his wife, then 38 weeks pregnant, badly, and that they had told the man who came to measure beforehand that they would need help carrying some items out. BusinessWest has covered the company's annual $2,500 contribution to Greenfield Community College, given in memory of Erin Summerlin, daughter of owner Ann Bronner, and a 2020 scholarship for a woman of color studying business there; the Women's Business Enterprise National Council certified it as woman-owned in 2020. This is a good fit if you want to see samples, get straight advice and have the work installed by the same place that sold it. Before install day, put in writing exactly what furniture moving and prep the crew will handle — that is where the one hard review began.
