Sunrise Contractor Inc's written record stops in March 2014. Twenty-one Angi reviews posted between 2012 and 2014 average 4.2, and what they describe is consistent enough to still be worth knowing: careful hands, slow phone. The BBB files the same operation at 2 Walter Terrace in Somerville under the name Sunrise Construction Builders, LLC — 25 employees, business started November 2009, graded A+ though not accredited — while Angi lists it as Sunrise Contractor Inc of Medford. Between them the listed trades run to framing, drywall, carpentry, painting, James Hardie siding, roofing, and kitchen and bath remodeling. The carpentry accounts are specific. A 2012 reviewer described Giovany working out how to marry new kickboards to existing floor molding where the two met at a corner — cutting down the same molding and building a fake joint at the top — and said the fix looked right. Another 2012 customer wrote that the crew "arrived everyday, on time, prepared to work" and that they spoke with the owner daily. In a 2013 review, a homeowner had a fire-rated basement door fitted, garage holes fire-sealed, a broken closet door swapped and attic flooring pulled, all in about half a day by a crew of three. The complaints cluster on one thing: reaching them. A 2013 reviewer called it "the most frustrating experience I've had with a contractor", describing a week of silence after an estimate request and a stream of emails before work got scheduled. Another 2013 review said the work was "extremely sloppy", with crews taking many breaks and leaving three hours early. Scheduling friction shows up inside the good reviews too — one 2012 customer had first posted a negative review, then revised it after the owner called back a week later and made it right. All of that is more than a decade old. If you are considering them, ask for jobs finished this year and references you can call, and put the start date and a response window in the contract before you sign.
They weren’t very good. I would not use them again.
They were very prompt and very nice but due to very normal circumstances we were not able to start the work yet. They have appointments made with me to get them done.
Very nice people to work with indeed! They really seem to care about the work and even did some extras without being asked.
there were some initial communication issues with the repair, but once we sorted them out, repairs were customized to our needs and were completed in a timely and professional manner
Difficult to schedule, but once they finally were able to make it, they were in and out in a day. Work looked good.
