Taylor & Son HVAC is a small Merrimack Valley heating and cooling outfit that builds as much as it installs. Alongside preventative maintenance and new mechanical systems for homes and commercial buildings, the company says it does its own sheet metal fabrication, installation and welding. Its Better Business Bureau file, opened in December 2017, lists the business at 466 Lake St in Haverhill, with a start date of January 2016, eight employees, and Robert Taylor as president. BBB has not issued a rating, saying it does not have enough information to, and the company is not accredited. LinkedIn work histories put crew members in Andover. The customer side is thin, and what exists is not flattering: Google shows 2.3 stars across three ratings. The one review with a body, written in December 2024, comes from a homeowner who paid a high price for an urgent central air replacement and then found the system had been installed with no box for an air filter β something they say they only discovered after a summer of poor indoor air quality, when they climbed into the attic to change a filter that was not there. Repeated calls, they wrote, did not fix it. One unhappy homeowner is not a verdict on an eight-person shop, but it is the only detailed account anyone has left. If you call them, get the scope in writing down to the filter housing and the ductwork, ask who handles warranty callbacks and how quickly, and price a second quote before agreeing to an emergency replacement.

Hired Taylor and Son to replace a central air system. They were priced pretty high for the job but we needed the system replaced ASAP so we decided to pay. There are several issues with the work they did - some so egregious that it you start to wonder if they actually know what they are doing. For example, there is no box for an air filter; they simply didn't put it on. We've been having issues with indoor air quality all summer and it wasn't until I went into the attic to change the filter that I discovered that there was no filter to change. We called them dozens of times to bring this to their attention and see if they would remedy the solution and they dodged and dodged until they ultimately stopped responding altogether and now won't return our calls. This is simply bad faith business. They are not worth your money and do not stand by their work. I would avoid at all costs.
