Terry's Home Improvement is a one-person Boston contracting business, run by Brian Terry, with reviews going back to 2015 that consistently single out careful, detail-oriented window and sash repair. Its Massachusetts general contractor / home improvement contractor license, #186822, expired in January 2021, and BuildZoom's registry check reports the state marked it cancelled at one point. Homeowners hiring for licensed work should confirm current registration status directly with the state before signing a contract. The written record, mostly from 2015 through 2022, describes detailed, well-regarded work. In a December 2017 review, a customer described Terry repairing 16 windows for a fraction of a $40,000 competing quote, calling the work outstanding. In a July 2016 review, another described him restoring three broken panes in a 101-year-old wooden window and adding stops to extend its life, calling him a true craftsman. Beyond windows, reviews dated 2015 through 2020 describe deck repair, a wall air conditioner installation, a partial kitchen wall removal with electrical and drywall work, and general handyman-style jobs. Several reviewers note he did extra work at no charge — fixing a broken screen in a March 2018 review, and in an April 2016 review, redoing a repaired window pane under his unconditional guarantee after a fly became embedded in it during the repair. On HomeAdvisor and Angi, the business holds a 5.0-star average across 20 ratings on each platform. For window and sash repair, deck work, or smaller home-improvement jobs in the Boston area, the written record is unusually consistent and detailed, though it predates 2023 — and the lapsed contractor license is worth confirming before hiring for work that requires one.

I hired him through Angi, and was really happy with his job and knowledge. He has a lot of experience and know what he is doing. Will fully recommend him and hire him again if I need to do another job at my house.
This was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had with a business. The owner is knowledgeable and he clearly cares about the work he does. If you’re thinking about hiring this person, do it. You will not regret it.
I called terry to see if my counter could be raise as my new dishwasher would not fit where my old one was. I was told I had to either cut the floor or do the counter over He said it would be a lot of work as I have tile that would have to be cut. He then asked if he could try something and guess what he got my dishwasher in with no cutting that the other guy said I had to do. Terry and Dave are the best. Thank you
