On Google, four ratings average out to 2 stars. On Thumbtack, six average to 3.7. Reading through the actual reviews explains the split: The Only Finish Carpentry is a small Milford crew doing finish carpentry, cabinet installs, trim and crown molding, drywall patching, and interior painting, with 45 completed projects shown on its Thumbtack profile. The track record from 2022 through 2025 is uneven at best. A homeowner writing on Google in 2025 said the company damaged their house and took their money without finishing the job. A 2023 Google review called it the worst contractor the customer had ever used and said it left a mess, and a 2022 review described a pattern of no-shows, cancellations on the day work was scheduled to start, uneven and poorly cut trim, and insistence on being paid before the job was done. Thumbtack tells a split story from the same stretch: one 2023 customer said the crew installed a cabinet improperly and never came back to haul away the old one despite repeated promises, and another said they were charged $200 an hour for a simple task the crew couldn't finish. Set against that, other 2023 Thumbtack reviewers praised the same crew — one called the carpentry professional and the quality fantastic and said they'd call again, another described the team as punctual and organized. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 199841, has lapsed — the state registry lists it as expired. Given how often the complaints center on missed appointments, workmanship, and being asked to pay before the job is actually finished, it's worth locking down a written scope, a firm schedule, and payment tied to completed work before signing anything. This is a crew that has done work some customers were genuinely happy with, but the last few years of reviews lean hard toward caution — get references, confirm the licence status directly, and hold back final payment until the work is done and inspected.
Don’t waste your money with this contractor. He damaged my house and took my money
Very bad experience. They did not install the cabinet properly. Also, they were supposed to get rid of the old cabinet but they never returned. I messaged the owner again , he said he would return but never did. Very unprofessional.
The worst contractor I have ever seen. Just leave mess.
Very Good Job!
