Verified record
Thermal Products Company is a Natick, Massachusetts window and siding outfit that reviewers know almost entirely through one name: owner Doug Ross. Windows and storm doors are the recurring thread across its written record — replacement window jobs, cracked-pane fixes, and door swaps, run personally or with a small crew. Its BuildZoom record spans eight years and just three reviews, averaging 3 out of 5 stars. The strongest account is a 2015 review describing Doug Ross as prompt for the estimate and efficient on the job, with pricing that ran about half of what a big-box retailer quoted for a round of replacement windows and, three years later, two storm doors; a couple of minor installation issues came up and were resolved. A 2023 review told a similar story on the install side — a crew member named Victor did a good job putting in four replacement windows and swapped a cracked one quickly — though that homeowner was left confused about whether the windows actually qualified for the Federal Tax Credit for energy efficiency. Worth knowing before calling: a 2018 review described a different experience. A customer with a 2011 window installation under a lifetime warranty said repeated calls and texts to Doug Ross about a slider window that wouldn't lock went largely unanswered, and the repair was eventually done by someone else. BuildZoom also lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for the company, shown there as inactive. For straightforward window or storm-door replacement, the pricing and installation quality described here are real positives — just confirm current licensing and ask directly how the company handles a warranty callback before signing anything.

Install replacement windows. Victor, who works with Doug did a great job installing 4 replacement windows. One window cracked and he replaced it quickly. My concern was energy efficiency and the Federal Tax Credit. He referred me to the company that made the windows and they told me to talk with Doug. I guess they are not Energy Efficient windows. I don't blame Doug, I should have gotten this information before the windows were installed.
We had windows put in 2011 and contract states lifetime warranty. In August of this year we called Doug Ross and informed that our kitchen slider window would not lock and asked if he could come to look at and see see what the problem was. We called and text him several times and one response was that he was too busy to come. We have since gone elsewhere to have the window fixed.
Doug Ross was prompt in arriving at my home for a replacement window estimate. He replaced half the windows six years prior and we had him finish installing the rest of the windows. He was efficient when we contracted and hisprices were half the cost of a big box retailer. They came and neatly removed all debris and all old windows. They installed the new windows promptly . I had two storm doors replaced about three years later. He was very fair and upfront. If there was a problem as there were two minor issues installing the front storm and one cellar window, I was informed and the minor issues were resolved. I was pleased with his work and now would like his estimate on siding my house.
