Thompson Brown Renovations

Thompson Brown Renovations works out of Lynnfield, and the same word keeps recurring across three years of Google reviews: 'seamless.' The company says it's run by owner Matt Thompson, a licensed real estate broker, alongside Ben, who holds a Construction Supervisor license. The written record is deep — 30 Google reviews dated 2023 through this year, all but one of them five stars. Full bathroom remodels come up most often: subs handle the tile, demolition, plumbing and electrical while Matt coordinates and, customers say repeatedly, keeps them updated daily. In a 2023 review of a kitchen renovation, one customer wrote that Matt 'was excellent at communicating with me daily on progress, delays... and unexpected issues.' Full kitchen remodels and basement build-outs — one folding in a new bathroom and HVAC work — describe the same pattern. In a 2025 review, a customer described turning both floors of a two-family home into finished units, including new cabinets, refinished hardwood, vinyl plank flooring, two remodeled bathrooms and an electrical upgrade — a sign the company takes on bigger, multi-trade jobs, not just single rooms. More recent reviews lean commercial: the company has done repeat build-out work for the btone FITNESS studio chain, with locations in Nashua, Boston's Back Bay, Acton and Melrose each describing a tight-timeline job finished on or ahead of schedule — the Back Bay studio review says the crew finished a full day early to protect the client's reopening date. This year, one customer who had just moved to a home near Lynnfield hired the company for a new deck on a recommendation from earlier customers of Matt's. The one dissent in an otherwise uniform record: in a 2025 review of a bathroom remodel, a customer who was still glad they'd hired the company said the unit wasn't kept as clean as they'd have liked during demolition and asked for more dust protection and a more thorough cleanup at the end — worth asking about before work starts if a tidy jobsite matters to you. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Thompson Brown fits a homeowner planning a real bathroom or kitchen renovation — not a single fixture swap — who wants one person managing the subs and the schedule; the commercial buildout work shows they can also handle a deadline-driven job at scale. Before booking, ask how they handle dust containment and end-of-day cleanup, the one specific the record raises.
