27 Google ratings and every single one is five stars — plus a matching 5.0 on other review sites and no complaints turning up anywhere across the six sources checked. That's the headline for King of Remodeling, a Waltham, Massachusetts outfit run by Gabriel Cerna that describes itself as doing carpentry, painting, remodeling, and general construction work. The praise is consistent across platforms: a home-modification directory logs a 5.0 from 28 reviews and a kitchen-and-bath referral site shows the same perfect score. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor license, HIC #205742, is active and verified with the state. How long the company has actually been doing this work is a little muddled, though — its BBB file puts the business at eight years old (registered in 2018), its own website credits Cerna with ten years of experience, and its Angi profile claims fifteen; worth asking about directly rather than assuming any one number. The company isn't BBB accredited, and its own website reads like an unedited template — placeholder customer-count stats and a leftover quote credited to a name ('Henry Scott') that doesn't match anyone else associated with the business. Neither is disqualifying, but it suggests the marketing hasn't gotten the same attention as the fieldwork, so weigh the reviews and the verified license more than the site's polish. For carpentry-driven remodeling, painting, and general home-improvement work around Waltham, the rating pattern here is about as clean as it gets across every source that has one. Pin down the actual years in business and ask to see recent project photos before booking — none turned up here.

Gabriel and his team did a fantastic job removing our warn out front porch staircase and rebuilding us a new one. The old staircase did not have a landing and it was awkward standing on the top step while opening the storm door which swings outward. We discussed designing a new staircase WITH a landing. Gabriel came up with a design that came out fantastic! The new staircase is solid! You can now stand comfortably on the new landing and opening the storm door is no longer an issue! I had previously purchased mahogany stair treads that I sanded and treated with a high quality penetrating oil that I wanted to use on the new staircase.Gabriel agreed to use my treads and did a great job incorporating them into the build. My wife and I both agree, "King Of Remodeling" did a great job! The new staircase came out great! We appreciate the added curb appeal as well! Thanks to Gabriel and his team for a job well done!!

Gabriel and his team just replaced my 20x20 deck with all new materials, and did an excellent job.

We are very happy with our new front steps done in ipe (beautiful hard wood). Gabril was very communicative and listened to what we wanted. lf it wasn't for the rain, the project would have been completed at most 3-4 days. Remember to discuss details, contractors are not designers and be clear about what you want. Overall we are happy with the work!

New paint on an old house and garage. About two years ago, Gabriel and his team at King of Remodeling transformed our 1920 Dutch Colonial shingle house, and the results were nothing short of amazing! We chose a midnight blue with white trim, and the house still looks stunning today. Before Gabriel started, the shingles were falling off, and the paint was peeling and chipped everywhere. His team sanded down the shingles, replaced the damaged ones, and repainted all the trim and siding. They also rebuilt our failing deck and gave both decks a fresh coat of paint. The transformation was incredible and our house looked brand new! The quality of work so good that about a year later, I hired Gabriel again to paint the inside of our garage. For prep ge cleaned and fixed the spalling concrete on the ceiling and walls, and then painting everything beautifully. The garage is now not only functional but also looks fantastic. Gabriel and his team are true professionals who pay attention to every detail. Their work is top notch, and two years later, it still shows. I highly recommend King of Remodeling for any painting or contracting needs. Gabriel will absolutely be my first call for future projects! Here are a few photos of the finished work.
