Tom is the name in TLC Home Remodeling's reviews, and they reach back a long way: its written record runs 2008–2019, on Angi. The Monroe company describes its work as home remodeling, siding, roofing, windows, doors and decks. In a 2009 review, a customer said Tom and his team rebuilt a kitchen in a 1915 house with no straight wall or doorway, staying on schedule even with added projects. A 2016 reviewer said Tom's crew finished a basement, explained what was and wasn't possible, and didn't gouge them when issues surfaced. In a 2013 review, a customer said a door job that required building out walls and a frame was done in two days, with cheaper approaches suggested along the way. One 2008 customer said the wrong window was ordered despite explicit instructions, though it was replaced within an hour and the installation was excellent. TLC did a great job with the project.
We hired Tom and his crew to finish our basement. Not an easy project and I don't have a lot of experience with what goes into major projects, but Tom was great. Explained what needed to be done, what was possible or why some things weren't. Very fair on price and didn't gouge us when issues surfaced along the way. I highly recommend Tom, Frank, and Pat, especially in New Canaan where most people try to overcharge for mediocre work. Already talking to Tom about potential other projects...
He called before, during and after and also suggested and implemented cheaper ways to go. The door required building out walls and constructing a door frame. Did the whole job in two days.
