Matching a worn cabinet glaze is one of the jobs customers have described hiring Tome Painting to do. In a March 2026 Google review, a customer said Jim matched the glaze on 13-year-old kitchen cabinets, repainted custom office built-ins and changed the wall colors in two rooms. The customer praised the results and described him as responsive and attentive. The company says it provides custom interior and exterior painting, cabinet coatings and specialty finishes for homes. Its website identifies Jim McCarron as the owner and operator, and says he launched Tome Painting in 2024 after 15 years refining his craft with designers and builders in New England. Preparation featured prominently in two 2024 customer accounts. A reviewer writing that August described a dark living room with pine walls, knots and water stains. They had thought the walls would need replacing; instead, they said Jim spent days vacuuming and priming the wood before painting, leaving a cleaner appearance while preserving its texture. They also praised his communication throughout the work. In a May 2024 review, another customer described painting in the kitchen, family room, master bedroom, stairs and hallway, and singled out the time Jim spent preparing the surfaces. Exterior work drew praise in a separate August 2024 review. That homeowner said Jim painted the house exterior and found and addressed needed repairs. A March 2025 customer called his quoted prices reasonable and described him as thorough and time efficient. Google showed a 5-star average from six ratings in August 2026.

Jim’s work painting the exterior of our home was top notch. Found and addressed repair work we needed, leaving us with a beautiful home again and peace of mind. Kind, honest and meticulous. Looking forward to completing some interior work with him soon. Gladly and highly recommend Tome!
Can't imagine ever working with another painter! Jim was meticulous from start to finish, and the end result was nothing short of spectacular. We had an old and dark looking living room with pine wood on the walls that was full of knots and water stains. We thought we would have to just replace the walls, but Jim ensured us he could get them to a point where the stains and knots wouldn't bleed through and we could enjoy the the texture added by the wood while achieving a far cleaner look. He spent days vacuuming the wood and priming before painting....and the room has been completely transformed! He was a clear communicator throughout the entire process and we look forward to working with him on our next project!
Jim did an excellent job painting our kitchen, family room, master bedroom, stairs and hallway. He spends a lot of time on his prep work so that the final product comes out looking brand new and absolutely meticulous. If you are looking for a high end, knowledgable painter Jim is the guy you want to call. He exceeded our expectations.
