Total Moving Express is a Woburn-based shipper that ships household goods and packages by box, door-to-door or port-to-port, from the United States to Brazil. The company describes itself on its own site as family-owned, saying it works only with the 'Total Moving family' and does not outsource the work. The dominant story in its written record is boxes that take far longer than promised — sometimes a year or more — to reach Brazil, with customers saying they can't get a real answer when they ask why. Reviewers across 2021 through mid-2026 describe the same pattern repeatedly: a box shipped, months of silence or vague explanations ('it's at customs,' 'it's stuck at the port'), and, in a number of cases, boxes that finally arrive with items missing or gone entirely. Several reviewers describe losing hundreds to thousands of dollars' worth of belongings this way, and say they could not reach anyone by phone or WhatsApp once a complaint was raised. The pattern is recent, not historical — every review posted in the six months before this one was negative, echoing complaints going back years. Not every account is negative: a few reviewers over the years describe boxes arriving intact within the promised window — one within four months in 2022, another in a February 2026 review who called the company careful and fast — and a 2024 review from a self-described four-year customer said they never lost a box, though delays did happen and one shipment was opened and inspected by Brazilian customs. The Better Business Bureau gives the company a B- grade and lists one complaint on file. The company's license number is self-reported on its own site and has not been independently verified. Given how consistently and recently customers describe undelivered or incomplete shipments, anyone considering this company for an international shipment should treat the risk of a lost or delayed box as a real possibility, get everything in writing, and ask directly about tracking and what happens if a box doesn't arrive.
WARNING/ALERT: I am issuing this warning to everyone to express my utter indignation, sadness and regret over having paid the company Total Moving. They have demonstrated incompetence and the inability to provide services to their paying clients. This company promises to deliver boxes shipped from the USA to Brazil via sea freight (container), guaranteeing a timeframe of 90 to 120 days after picking up the box from your home. However, this promise is not kept or fulfilled. The box never reaches the recipient—the very box into which you poured all your dreams, love, affection, and dedication, believing your family back in Brazil would receive it and feel the love behind items acquired through so much effort, sacrifice, and hard work here in the USA. I bought the entire layette for my first grandchild, who is likely to be born in the coming weeks. The box was picked up from my home on November 12, 2025, and arrived in Brazil—ready for customs clearance—on March 11, 2026, according to the company's tracking website. Yet, when you call Total Moving, no one answers the phone. My daughter-in-law tried to contact the company in Brazil to inquire about the box I had sent. A person whose name begins with the initial "M" (unfortunately, I cannot list his full name here)—who claims to be the owner of the company—belittled and ridiculed my daughter-in-law (who is in the final stages of her pregnancy), leaving her stressed, agitated and frightened. Mr. "M" told her over the phone that had she tried to save money by sending the box via USPS freight instead of his company that she would have already received the box. I trusted the company, Total Moving because it was referred to me by a Brazilian coffee shop I frequented. At the end of the day I paid for services from Total Moving that were never actually rendered. I hope that by writing this and putting myself out there, it can serve as a warning to all Brazilians living here in the US never to use the services of Total Moving. I also hope that the Brazil Coffee Shop stops recommending this company to Brazilians.
This company is unreliable. I shipped two boxes a year ago, and they never reached their destination. They claim the container was seized, but they won't provide the container number. I had a terrible experience with them.👎
