Treadstone Construction

One name runs through almost every review of Treadstone Construction: Luke. Lucas Ingemi owns the company, works out of 213 Grover St in Revere, and for a decade customers have written about him personally — the same-day door fix, the kitchen he redrew, the drywall job he came out on a Saturday to quote. The range is unusually wide for a four-person outfit. Its Houzz page is filed as a flooring contractor with what the company calls a full-scale flooring division — sanding, refinishing, staining, subfloors, laminate and vinyl — while its HomeAdvisor page is built on handyman and small-project work, and its permit record shows two 2025 Malden jobs including a two-family gut renovation and a $154,000 addition. In a December 2014 review a homeowner hired him for a floating laminate floor and ended up with a new counter, sink, tile backsplash, recessed-lit ceiling and paint, done in about a week. The caveat is that almost all of that writing is old. Twenty-five of the twenty-eight accounts land between February 2014 and June 2019; the only recent ones are three five-star reviews posted on Thumbtack within a single week in late 2024, just after the profile went live, one of which describes a kitchen and floor plan opened up into a dining room and sun porch. Two complaints deserve weight. In July 2017 a retired homeowner paid $2,250 for a sunroom roof, then spent a day picking screws and debris out of the yard and reported leaks where the roof meets the wall, with new screws protruding uncaulked; she wrote that she would have to hire someone else to fix it. And in April 2019 a customer rated the company one star — not for the workmanship, which he said was fine, but for a painter's conduct in his home that had him ready to call 911; the owner replied on the page apologising and asking how to resolve it. Both point the same direction: ask who specifically will be in your house, and whether they are employees or subcontracted. The paperwork also needs a question. Its own pages print two different Massachusetts home improvement contractor numbers — 214094 on BuildZoom and HomeAdvisor, 193354 on Houzz — and neither was confirmed against the state registry here. The company's stated tenure moves around too: 21 years on one page, 16 on another, 'over 20' in the blurb on both. For floors, a bathroom, or the accumulated small jobs an older house generates, the decade of accounts is consistent and specific. Before booking, confirm the current registration number yourself at the Office of Consumer Affairs, ask whether Luke or a subcontractor does the work, and get anything involving a roof or exterior weatherproofing put in writing with a warranty.
