Truecraft Drywall & Painting is a Dorchester shop co-founded by Micah Logan and Andree Allen that pairs two trades many contractors keep separate — full drywall repair and interior/exterior painting — for jobs across greater Boston. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and it holds an active Minority Business Enterprise certification from the state's Supplier Diversity Office through December 2027; in late 2025 it also graduated Boston's SCALE small-business program and the city's Building for Growth cohort. The reviews on file — 19 since 2024, 3 of them in just the last six months, none negative — describe a pattern of thorough diagnostic work before the cosmetic fix. A spring 2026 review described hiring the crew after ice-dam leaks damaged multiple ceilings: they cut out and replaced sections, patched stress cracks, and handled loose insulation before painting. In a December 2025 review, another customer said the crew verified there was no hidden water damage behind drywall before repairing and repainting it. Pricing comes up often and favorably — in an August 2025 review, one customer credited the team with sending a change order any time the scope shifted, "no surprises with the bill at the end." Google puts them at 4.8★ from 17 ratings, and their two Angi reviews (both for drywall installation) are a perfect 5.0★. The one real complaint on file, from a January 2025 review, is worth flagging: the customer said the painting crew did a good job but the drywall side of the same visit "was plagued by problems due to the unskilled person that was assigned," and suggested asking specifically who'll be doing the drywall work before booking. Truecraft also lists mold testing/removal and water-damage restoration among its services, though there isn't a completed job in the reviews yet to point to for that work specifically. For a straightforward paint job or a ceiling that needs real drywall reconstruction — not just a patch — the reviews describe a crew that explains the scope upfront and follows through; for drywall specifically, it's worth confirming who's on the crew that day.

We had an excellent experience with Truecraft. They painted two interior rooms in our home, and we were especially impressed with the work the team did to address texture issues and cracks in the ceilings before painting. It made a real difference in the final result. Andree was communicative throughout the entire process, from the initial estimate visit through dialing in the details of the job, and he made sure everything was completed to our standards. The team was punctual and respectful of our space. Highly recommend!
I hired them for drywall repairs in my condo after ice dam leaks caused damage in multiple ceiling areas. The job involved cutting out and replacing sections of the ceiling, patching, handling loose insulation above, and fixing some stress cracks. They did a thorough walkthrough upfront and clearly explained the scope, which I appreciated. The two-person crew was skilled, friendly, and respectful of the space. The finished work looks clean and ties in well with the existing ceiling. I had a bunch of mini stress cracks, and they patched/painted everything very well. They even fixed some nicks and dents from an unrelated incident. There were a couple baby hiccups (a payment system glitch and a delayed arrival on day one), but everything was resolved quickly and professionally. They use an online system that sets you up with an account, keeping the quote, invoice, and appointments all in one place, with an easy means of online payment. I got multiple bids, and their pricing was very reasonable and they even handled a few small items at no extra cost. The owner came out at the end to personally check the work and make sure everything was satisfactory. A+ experience overall, would definitely hire again.
Andre, Michael, and Hakim were a pleasure to work with. They communicated clearly throughout the project, completed the work on time, and delivered excellent results. They were responsive to my questions and adaptable when changes were needed. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking drywall or painting services.
We had a great experience with Truecraft Drywall and Painting. They were very reliable and completed the job in the expected timeline. They were thorough in making sure there was no water damage behind our damaged drywall and did an excellent job with the drywall repair and painting. We would get appointment reminders before their arrival via text / and invoices can be easily paid online!
