"A good electrician is worth their weight in gold" — a customer reached for that line in a May 2024 review of Varujan Abalian, the electrician named on VA Electric Co.'s Angi profile. The Belmont, Massachusetts company lists wiring and panel upgrades, electrical work for additions and remodels, and lightning protection on that page. Several customers have stayed with him a long time. One writing in December 2023 said that over two decades of jobs for them and their condo association, he arrived on time and went over what the work would involve and how long it would take. Another December 2023 review described more than 15 years of projects — lighting design and wiring for the writer's store locations, then lighting in a new home. A December 2024 review said the job was done on the promised schedule for the promised price, and that Abalian even did the rough patching of the holes and stayed flexible while the customer was across the country. Several other reviewers, writing between 2023 and 2025, called the pricing reasonable or competitive. The 2025 write-ups lean electric-vehicle. In August 2025 a customer wrote that the company helped install an electric vehicle charging port and communicated well from start to finish. A December 2025 review described several projects handled quickly for a reasonable price, including a problem the writer hadn't considered that was solved with an inexpensive fix. Earlier, in December 2024, a homeowner whose heating had quit called VA Electric to replace a breaker after their HVAC company said it was not approved to do it. One thing to sort out on the phone: the Angi profile gives two different lengths of experience — 32 years in one section, 36 in another. A sensible call for household wiring, a panel or breaker swap, lighting, or an EV charger install. Ask to see the Massachusetts electrician licence and proof of insurance, and get the scope and the price in writing before the work starts.
