Vareschi Plumbing & Heating is a Berkshire County plumbing and heating shop listed at 1151 Massachusetts Ave in North Adams, Massachusetts, with John Vareschi named as owner. The Better Business Bureau records the business as starting in 2002, and permit records show a steady working history — BuildZoom counts 80 permitted projects. The credential is solid at the source: the Massachusetts registry shows plumber licence 10096-PL-M active, held by John Vareschi — the owner's own name. Customer feedback is limited but leans positive. Google shows 3.7 stars across 14 ratings, and the three retrievable review bodies are all five-star. The most detailed one, from February 2023, describes an appointment mix-up that the customer had to chase — and then a crew that arrived the same day and replaced a broken pipe in under ninety minutes, restoring water after several days without it. A recent August 2026 reviewer called the crew 'Professional, honest, affordable and kind'. A Reddit commenter in a Massachusetts boiler-cost thread offered a cooler read, saying the work was 'okay, not terrible' and took about twelve hours spread over three days — but that comment dates from 2016 and describes work from that period. Two record-keeping notes worth knowing. The company appears under two addresses: North Adams on the BBB and Procore records, and 37 Spring Rd in Adams on BuildZoom, which files it as 'Joe Vareschi plumbing and Heating' — the same phone number runs through all of them. And BuildZoom's licence block should not be read as a credential: it lists four records of three types, two 'Not Verified' with stale expiry dates, one cancelled Sheet Metal licence, and an entry claiming this contractor 'does not need a license' in Massachusetts, which its own Plumber record contradicts. The state registry is the authority, and it says the plumber licence is active.
“I however used Vareschi, out of North Adams, MA. He was okay, not terrible. Took them about 12 hours of work to finish, spread over 3 days.”

Reliable service
Had an appointment for 2/21/2023 at 08;30. There was a mixup with the appointment. After calling, they arrived later in the day and repaired/replaced my broken pipe in less than an hour and a half. I have running water after several days without it. If I ever need a plumber again, Vareschi will be my first call. I highly recommend them.
