Victor A. Berube

Two people have written about Victor Berube's roofing work, and both did it in early 2019. One called him "the only roofer that I recommend"; the other, after a $650 asphalt shingle repair, said he came out the day of the call and finished the job the next day. He works under his own name out of 43 Mill Street in Beverly, and the trade is exteriors: asphalt shingle, slate, tile and wood shake roof repair, with gutters, windows, deck repair and skylights alongside. The thing to settle before hiring is the registration. His Massachusetts home improvement contractor licence, number 171736, ran out on 15 February 2022; BuildZoom re-checked it as expired in April 2026, and Consumer Affairs has it as cancelled. Roofing is not one of the trades Massachusetts exempts from that registration, so ask him where it stands. The tenure claims do not line up either — 62 years of experience on one Angi line, over 40 in his own blurb just below it, and 7 years on Porch. For a small roof repair on the North Shore, two customers wrote him up warmly, both back in 2019. Get the registration question answered first, then get the price in writing.
