A homeowner writing in December 2011 said they could see their reflection in the floors when Viking Floors was done — and that the company had been the cheapest bid on the job. Refinishing tired hardwood is what this Middleboro outfit gets written about. Eric runs it and works the job alongside his father. A customer writing in January 2011 described them arriving on the day promised, returning the next day at about the same hour for the second coat of polyurethane, and coming back a third day through a snowstorm. Another in November 2011 got a separate estimate for each floor, had the furniture moved out of the room, and watched them lift a puddle-damaged patch by heating it. A March 2012 customer wanting a whitewash finish was called ahead when Eric got busy and asked whether the date could move a week. Not every job closed cleanly. A three-star reviewer in August 2012 wrote about globs of poly left around, stain on the baseboards, and work abandoned before it was finished, with no call to explain. The Angi profile says the owner phoned afterwards to apologise and offer to put it right. All eight of these accounts run from December 2010 to July 2013, and the same eight appear word for word on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, where the average is 4.8 — one review set on two pages, not two sets. The Angi page also carries a "78 years of experience" highlight, a directory field nothing else on the profile stands behind. For sanding, staining and refinishing hardwood, or replacing damaged boards, what these customers describe is a small father-and-son crew that turns up when it says it will and leaves the house clean. Because nothing written is newer than 2013, ask for a few recent local addresses, and put in writing what counts as finished — the last coat, the baseboards, and who comes back for touch-ups.
Did a great job. Replaced damaged hardwood floors in two rooms and made other helpful recommendations. Would recommend Viking Floors.
Great service from start to cleanup.
They did a nice job to start but we are now noticing that there are globs of poly all over the place and stain all over the baseboards. They also didn't complete the job. They acted like they were going to come and finish but they never even showed up. No call or anything. It's a shame because I chose this company based on the feedback on Angie's list. As an update: Eric from Viking Floors called me shortly after this was posted and apologised. He is willing to fix the problem in any way that we would like The phone call and extension of service is appreciated.
Eric came soon after we called to give us an estimate and scheduled us based on a timeframe we requested a few weeks out. During that time he got busy so he called ahead and asked if we could push it back a week which was fine with us. Since it was a white wash he put down the stain and had us come check it out before he applied the poly. It was gorgeous! We are so happy with the finished product - the floors are the star of house! I would definitely worth with Viking again!
Absolutely outstanding! Not only was this company the cheapest, the finished product looked better than it did when first installed! I could see my reflection in the floors. The color and reflective properties were absolutely consistent throughout the house. It was a masterful result! If I ever have a floor resurfaced, there is no question who I will be calling on again!
