Wachusett Contractors is a small, owner-run roofing company out of Leominster built around Ross O'Donnell, who learned the trade through his father's construction business before starting his own. The crew of about ten specializes in flat and low-slope commercial roofing — EPDM, TPO and PVC membranes — along with residential asphalt, slate and metal roofs, working towns from Leominster out through the MetroWest area. Across 13 reviews from 2017 to 2023 on seven different platforms, nearly all of them five stars, the same details keep coming up: customers describe Ross personally quoting jobs quickly and explaining the technical side of a roof — materials, fasteners, and how a new roof would stop the ice dams that had been jamming up the old one. A 2021 review credits a suggestion from him with saving about $500 on a flat-roof project, and another from that year says he went out of his way to keep a flat roof leak-proof afterward. A 2020 emergency repair was looked at the same day it was reported and finished within a couple of days. There's a real mismatch worth asking about directly. Wachusett's own website says the LLC was formed around 2015 and became fully operational in 2020, counting 11 years of industry experience through Ross's background — but its Houzz listing describes the company as a spin-off of a family roofing business dating to 1998. The license numbers on file don't match either: Houzz lists a Massachusetts home improvement license as cs-109153, while BuildZoom lists a different active Massachusetts home improvement contractor license, #192527, for the same business. Get the current license number and how long the company itself has actually been operating confirmed before signing anything. For a flat or low-slope roof, especially on a commercial building, or a standard residential reroof in central Massachusetts, Wachusett is worth a call — just nail down which license number is current and ask Ross directly about the company's history first.
Wachusett Contractors did an excellent job and great customer service!!!
The roofer kept their promises and did the work for the cost quoted. Very good customer service. Thx
Polite accommodating on time great follow up
Ross was very professional, explained all the technical aspects of the new roof, materials and fasteners, the type of insulation that would be used and how the new roof would keep the winter ice from jamming up, as that was our biggest problem with the old roof.
Cleaned up job site after the work was done.
