Weinmayr/Jay Associates is a landscape architecture firm the company traces back to 1969, when it was founded by Michael Weinmayr, described on its site as one of the last employees of the historic Olmsted Brothers firm; David Jay took over full ownership in 2012 and now leads the firm's residential, commercial, healthcare and historic design work across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The two Google reviews on file, both from late 2025, describe long-running client relationships rather than one-off projects: one client who has worked with David Jay for many years calls him an easy-to-work-with designer who understands the goals of a project, and another describes a garden built around color, garden rooms and a non-grass perennial planting scheme that the client says is still thriving, with plant selections "95%+ successful," years after installation. The firm's listed address varies by source — its own materials place it in Watertown, BBB lists a Waltham address, and Houzz lists Boston — worth confirming directly which office handles a given project. For a landscape design project drawing on decades of institutional experience, the credentials here (ASLA membership, LEED AP O+M accreditation) and the specific, long-term client praise both point the same direction — just confirm the correct office address when reaching out.

David & I have been collaborating for many years, and he is a great designer & easy to work with. David understands the goals & ideas and provides solutions to meet the needs for the project.
David Jay listened to my wishes for garden rooms, lots of color, a non-grass, perennial-based landscape, and hardscaping in keeping with my Victorian house, and boy did he deliver! The result is still a joy years later, and David’s selections of plantings were 95%+ successful despite many challenges on my site. Highly recommended!
