Whitney Home Service is a one-person handyman business run by Joe out of Revere, MA, offering home repairs, installations, remodeling touch-ups, and maintenance, including a 21-point home checklist the company describes on its own site. The track record is strong: reviewers across Google and Angi describe Joe as responsive, punctual, and good at tricky jobs -- mounting a shelf on a difficult tile wall, repairing a curtain rod along with the drywall behind it, fixing broken furniture, and working through a homeowner's punch list of odds and ends. Several reviewers mention he goes beyond the immediate ask, offering advice and explaining why something broke in the first place; one reviewer he couldn't get to in time still walked them through fixing a stuck storm door over the phone for free. Of the 14 reviews on file from 2022 through mid-2026, 13 are five stars. The one exception is worth knowing about: in a 2023 review, a homeowner using a wheelchair said Joe agreed to a date to install handicap rails, then went unresponsive until she left a critical review elsewhere, at which point she said he called her upset about it. That's a real data point on reliability and how criticism gets handled, alongside an otherwise consistent record of praise. This looks like a solid choice for everyday handyman work and smaller installs, with the caveat that homeowners on a tight timeline should confirm the appointment holds.
Joe is responsive, experienced, fair with pricing... and prompt for the appointments. There is nothing negative I can say. Hire him. You won't regret it.
I called Whitney services for help with my storm door. It was stuck and couldn’t open the door. When I called him and let him know that I couldn’t get out he said he would not be able to come because of other appointments but walked me through phone how to unlock it and refused to buy payment. He not only saved me $150 but helped me selflessly and saved me from my lock in situation. Thank you so much Joel for your help.
Whitney Home Service was professional, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate my schedule by coming out same day and expertly repaired my broken furniture - and even gave insight to why the original break happened. Appreciate their work and will consider their services again!
Joe with Whitney Home services was a Godsend. He was quick to respond, showed up on time and solved everything that I needed help with. I will surely hire him again for other projects.
I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. I was Moving and needed handyman to help install handicap rails, etc. He agreed to show up on a certain date but then ignored my messges until I gave him a poor review on Thumbtack. He called immediately upset with my review. After I agreed to remove my bad review and updated it to 5 stars he again agreed to show up on a certain date not realizing that he kept the 5 star review but then blocked me and he would not respond to me and I was left without a handyman when I moved. What he did was mean and unprofessional and I just can’t believe he would do this to a handicapped person. He took advantage of my good faith and desperate situation. Shame on him.
