A same-day roof repair is how one July 2026 Angi customer described working with Bill: he answered their request immediately, came that day, and left them happy with the repair. William Niland Roofing and Carpentry Services has an Arlington, Massachusetts profile on Angi and HomeAdvisor, which list roofing repair, gutter cleaning and carpentry. Those profiles also describe veteran ownership, ten years of experience, emergency services, free estimates and warranties. Roof repairs sit alongside replacement work. A May 2026 customer praised Bill's prompt replies about quotes, called the price fair and said his team replaced their roof. An April reviewer described repairs around the roof line, loose asphalt tiles being fixed, and gaps being closed and caulked to prevent bees entering. The customer also said Bill inspected other areas and praised the price. Older accounts describe smaller roof and gutter jobs in detail. In an August 2025 review, a customer said Bill treated roof moss, installed zinc strips and a gutter guard, unclogged a downspout and corrected a poorly installed roof vent. They said he also corrected a vent on a neighbor's roof, replacing neither home's second vent because he judged those did not need correction. In a June 2024 review, another customer described Bill and his partner fixing roof issues the next day after a phone conversation; the charge fell within the range quoted during that call. A December 2023 reviewer said he cleaned the gutters, made minor roof repairs and gave an opinion on the roof's condition. A September 2023 Angi complaint described a different experience with moss treatment. The customer said they agreed to cleaning shingles instead of replacing them, paid $250, and found the moss still present after a 15-minute visit. According to the customer, William said the cleaner would work over time. They also reported that he said he did not care about their disappointment and usually did not take projects below $300. Angi and HomeAdvisor each display a 4.9-star rating from 75 ratings. They list Massachusetts trade licence number 196837 with a September 30, 2027 expiry date; that is a directory licence claim.

good job
Bill answered my call for help to repair my roof immediately after I got off the computer. He came the same day to do the repair. I found him a pleasant person to work with and I am very happy the job is done and done right.
Bill is very responsive to quotes and gets back to you right away. He is very honest and provides a fair price for his work. His team did a great job replacing our roof.
Bill repaired around my roof line, fixed and repaired loose asphalt tiles, and closed and caulked gaps to prevent any bees from entering. He even inspected other areas. He is quick and professional and for a very good price. I will keep using him in the future.
Had Bill out for a fascia repair after a bad windstorm. He came and fabricated a new piece for me! Was quick, professional, and also let me know that my roof needed to be replaced soon (a few years). I thought it was an upsell. 2 years later I have shingles blowing off the roof and snapping in half with the slightest bend. Bill is the real deal. Also! Bill himself comes out to do the work. That's rare. Most trades these days subcontract to the lowest bidder. Not Bill, this man is skilled, extremely knowledgeable, and extremely hardworking.
