WINDOWREPAIR.COM

Windowrepair.com is a Cambridge shop with a narrow focus: fixing the wood windows already in the house rather than tearing them out. Its Houzz profile puts it at mechanical repair and restoration work since 1997, across a long list of Greater Boston towns. The work it lists runs from window repair and caulking to custom windows and stained glass repair and design — a range that suits an older house with sash windows worth saving. Houzz lists licence number 125507 for the company; check that number against the state register before you book. A call worth making if you want original windows repaired or restored instead of replaced. Ask what a sash repair runs against the cost of a new unit, and get the scope in writing.
