Winters Home Inspection is a home inspection company based in Topsfield, Massachusetts, serving buyers and sellers across Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Founder Chris Winters brings seven years of real estate background to the business and holds an active New Hampshire home inspector license (#00712), registry-verified under his own name; he is also a Certified Professional Inspector® and Certified Radon Tester. Brian Garcia, based in Melrose, MA, also inspects for the team. Homeowners who have hired the company consistently praise how thorough and detailed the inspections are. Reviewers across more than two years describe both inspectors walking every room, checking heating, electrical, plumbing and structural components, explaining what they find in plain language, and patiently answering follow-up questions. Several note fast turnaround — one client received a 70-page report within hours of a Friday inspection, and multiple others describe same-day or next-day delivery with photos attached. The team also uses drone imaging for roof inspections and thermal-imaging cameras to check heating systems and look for hidden issues, going beyond a standard visual walkthrough. Beyond the core home inspection, the company offers radon testing, WDI (wood-destroying insect) pest inspections, water-quality testing and environmental mold testing. Two 1-star Google reviews, both posted the same day, allege the company took $5,000 and $10,000 respectively and never completed promised work. That description sits oddly against the one-time inspection service documented consistently everywhere else in the record — Winters Home Inspection performs property inspections, not contracted construction or repair projects — so it's worth asking about these two complaints directly, or checking with a recent client, before booking. The company's own site also lists a Massachusetts inspector license (#1155) that has not yet been checked against the state registry, worth confirming is current. For a buyer or seller who wants a hands-on, technology-assisted inspection with a fast, well-organized report, Winters Home Inspection has an extensive and largely positive track record — just ask about the two disputed reviews and verify the Massachusetts license before booking.
Brian was great to work with - he was thorough, explained everything and answered any and all questions I had. I would absolutely recommend Winters Home Inspection to anyone who is purchasing!
Very detailed, and specific about what needs to be to be fixed soon and what can be fixed later. He is approachable , very knowledgeable in his expertise , and takes the time to educate the customer on what he observes. He is very prompt with the inspection report and detailed with the report as well. I would definitely use him again if I have another home I want to purchase.
The inspection was thorough and professional. Areas inspected included heating, electrical, plumbing and structural components such as ceilings and walls.
I personally had a very bad experience with this company. They took $10,000 from me, but the promised work was never completed. I believe other people may also have had similar experiences. I am going to report this company to the appropriate platforms and authorities so that others can be aware and protect themselves.
This company scams people. They also took **$5,000 from me** and failed to complete the work as promised. I am reporting this company to the appropriate authorities and platforms so others can be aware and avoid becoming victims. Please be careful before doing business with them, and always verify the company and its reputation before sending any money.
