Yankee Home is a replacement-focused home improvement company at 36 Justin Dr in Chicopee, founded and led by Ger Ronan. It says it has served homeowners since 2008 and now works out of offices in western and eastern Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut, and it stresses that its installers are employees rather than subcontractors. The work it is hired for is bath and shower replacement, replacement windows, entry and patio doors, siding, roofing and gutters, with plumbing attached to the bathroom side. Its Better Business Bureau file is accredited with an A+ grade and carries a single complaint, a 2023 service-or-repair issue recorded as answered. The volume is unusual for a regional remodeler: 4.8 stars from 1,398 Google ratings, and 880 distinct reviews across nine sources running from 2014 to 2026, 140 of them in the last six months. Read them closely, though, and a pattern emerges that matters when you are weighing the score. A very large share of the recent five-star reviews describe the in-home sales consultation rather than finished work — reviewers praise a named design consultant, then say they are looking forward to the install. Reviews of completed jobs do exist and are more useful: a June 2026 customer who had remodelled several bathrooms themselves described Larry and Mark prepping floors and removing the old shower, then Matt, Ray and a master plumber resolving issues before the inspector signed off, and a July 2023 customer said Joey and his teammate left the bathroom immaculate after a walk-in shower. On the other side of the ledger, in June 2026 a customer reported a no-show at a scheduled appointment. In February 2026 someone who had never hired the company said it called them several times a day from several numbers, kept calling from new numbers after being blocked, and continued after being told it had the wrong number. On Angi a March 2022 reviewer said a shower installed in October had leaked ever since, with four technician visits failing to find it and late or cancelled appointments going unannounced, and an August 2020 reviewer described promises about a one-year inspection, gutter cleaning and a screen repair that took repeated chasing. Outside the review sites the company is visible locally: it runs a $15,000 annual home makeover giveaway and has run a $7,500 sweepstakes, and in one case it stepped in with free services for a Chicopee couple who had been left with unfinished work by an unlicensed contractor. They are a reasonable call for a homeowner who wants a single company with its own crews for a bath, window, siding or roof replacement. Ask for references from completed jobs rather than consultations, get the warranty terms in writing — the directories disagree about whether warranties are offered at all — and confirm the licence number with the state, because the numbers printed across directories do not match.

My wife and I found Thom to be very friendly, knowledgeable, prepared and easy to work with, making our first encounter with Yankee Home a very positive experience.
We would like to commend DAVE MUSANTE, the design consultant who came to us today about a new walk-in shower. He was so gracious and knowledgeable, it was a pleasure to have him here. He did not pressure us and had so many helpful hints/ideas about the shower that we felt totally comfortable making our purchase. He is personable AND engaging and knows what he is doing, In our opinion he is a real credit to your company. Thank you for sending him to us and we look forward to the work you are going to do for us.
