In January 2026, four people wrote about the same thing within two days of each other: Zacarias Excavation turning up to clear a driveway. One had a car stuck in the snow for several days and says a plow was there within a couple of hours. Another, with what they called a gigantic driveway and nowhere to put the snow, says the whole thing came up clean to the asphalt, on time and at a fair price. The rest of the year the Lynn outfit — a sole proprietorship started in 2019 under Nelvin Zacarias, by the BBB's account — moves earth and stone. A June 2023 customer had a two-stepped, sloped backyard made level, a project that took a 120-foot retaining wall and roughly 30 feet of grading, at what they called a fair price. In June 2024 a Winchester homeowner got a retaining wall of natural stone and cement that came out, they wrote, exactly as hoped. A July 2026 job was one large granite boulder; a June 2026 job moved six or seven of them and set them stable and oriented the way the owners wanted. Speed is the other thing customers describe. An April 2025 homeowner spoke to him at 7 PM and had him on site at 8:30 the next morning to estimate, with the work done the following morning — a Sunday. Another April 2025 customer got an estimate on the spot, had the crew back a few days later, and says they arranged the required inspection and finished that same day. The September 2025 exception is a driveway, and it is worth stating plainly. That customer says the install came out poorly, that the asphalt plant was blamed, that Zacarias said he would come back to replace it and then stopped returning calls, and that weeds later came up through the surface; the same review says workers were drinking on the job at 8:30 in the morning. The Better Business Bureau, which does not list the business as accredited, grades it B- and says the grade comes from failing to respond to one complaint filed against it. Thumbtack has it as a current Top Pro, hired 32 times, with a completed background check for Nelvin Zacarias Perez and 46 project photos. Two details from the profiles matter before you call: the same Thumbtack page says seven years in business in one spot and four in another, and the HomeAdvisor listing states the business does not offer free estimates, emergency services or warranties. For stone walls, grading, boulders and a driveway that needs plowing, this is a crew that answers fast — seven accounts say so — and turns up when it says it will. For asphalt, put the callback terms in writing before anything is poured: the one job that went badly was a driveway, and the profile says no warranty comes with it.
