2JJ General Construction is a small Everett shop working out of 1 Calhoun Ave, picking up staining, painting, drywall, and general repair jobs around the area. Thumbtack lists the business under owner Paulo Ramos with three employees and four years in business, while Angi's version of the same profile puts their experience at eight years — worth asking about directly since the two don't agree. The clearest praise centers on finish work. A homeowner who hired them through Thumbtack said the crew did an amazing job staining a deck and furniture, calling them extremely detail-oriented and accommodating to whatever was needed. Another reviewer described an exterior-painting job done quickly, carefully, and at a great price. That pattern of careful, accommodating work shows up across a small but consistent 5.0-star, three-review Thumbtack history and lines up with a 4.6-star average from ten Google ratings. Not every job has gone as smoothly. Their history also includes a dispute where a customer felt a repair wasn't finished to a standard they could live with, and said a promised refund never came through — they ended up bringing in someone else to redo the work. It's the kind of complaint worth raising directly before booking, since it touches both the workmanship and how a disagreement got handled. With only about a dozen reviews on record total and no Better Business Bureau or Angi review history yet, this is worth vetting like a newer contractor despite the strong Thumbtack and Google numbers — ask for references on a job similar to yours, and confirm their actual years in business before signing anything.

I was very hopefully for this experience and it resulted in true disappointment. While I appreciate that they came back and made fixes to the sheetrock ceiling I cannot unsee the blatant imperfections when the nightlights are on. When I asked for a portion of my money back the owner said he venmo'd me but that was untrue. I had to have another team come in and fix their job.
