A Back Bay building manager lost heat on a Saturday morning in May 2026, called 617 HVAC, and had a tech on site the same day. What stayed with that customer was the evidence: a cracked heat exchanger, shown to them on video, with the carbon monoxide readings beside it. Showing the problem instead of asserting it comes up again and again here. 617 HVAC works out of Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington. Customers name Charles, Hector and Khalid, and the Google rating is a 5.0 across 18 ratings, with every written account dated 2026. The second opinions are worth the call on their own. In August 2026 a South Boston condo owner who had been told by another company that a unit had to be replaced got 617 to look again and said it saved thousands. In July 2026 a customer said Charles and Hector showed them why the system and its drainage had been set up badly, laid out the options and did the work efficiently. In June 2026 one customer got a clear explanation of the fault and a straightforward quote, then a two-hour repair scheduled around their own calendar; another had a mini-split system installed with the whole process explained first; another whose AC was blowing hot air got help late in the day; and a general contractor wrote that 617 is his main HVAC team for full installations on new construction and renovation work. Two practical notes. One August 2026 caller liked the price and the people but went with a company that could install sooner, so if your job has a hard date, pin the schedule down at the quote. And the company's own website is a placeholder page, so make sure the quote, the equipment model numbers and the warranty terms come to you in writing. For a repair where you want to be shown the fault, a second opinion before you replace a system, or a mini-split install around Arlington and Boston, 617 HVAC is a strong call. Get the model numbers and the warranty in the written quote, and confirm the install date before you commit.
The team at 617HVAC were friendly and professional. My experience was very positive. Their price was competitive and I would have gone with them but I was able to find someone who was available to do the installation sooner. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.
Highly highly recommend these guys. They saved me thousands of dollars of HVAC services in my South Boston condo. When one company told me i had to replace a certain unit i decided to get a second opinion from 617 and it was the smartest thing i could have done. It turned out the part the other company claimed i needed to replace didn’t even exist ! Thanks again for your help and anyone who is reading this trust me give this company a shot. You will not be disappointed.
I really enjoyed working with 617 HVAC! Charles and Hector were great, they were transparent, punctual, strong communicators, they showed me why my HVAC system and drainage was previously deficient, outlined my options, and did the work efficiently. Everything they did checked out with my research, and they were even patient enough to walk through an AI-generated checklist with me before they wrapped up, teaching me how everything worked and helping to put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend 617 HVAC.
They are amazing, highly recommended, they were efficient and transparent and explained everything so clearly. Will never call anyone else!
Khalid was wonderful. Provided me with excellent customer service. Would recommend his service to anyone!
