A furnace that quit on New Year's Day, and a technician at the door an hour after the call: that is the story one Angi customer told about Greater Boston HVAC in a January 2024 review. The Newton company's own site says it is owner-operated by Alex and has served Boston since 2000; BBB names Alexander Yashaev as president. In that 2024 account, Alex found water building up at the bottom of the furnace, caught before it damaged the ceiling of the apartment below, and replaced a motor once the part arrived a couple of days later. A 2017 Angi review describes a similar emergency heating call where he came quickly. Two September 2023 Angi reviews cover new system installs: one customer said Alex helped choose the right unit and priced it fairly, another that the company was the only one to return the call and installed AC and heat on time. In an August 2025 Google review, a customer said a service call found and fixed an HVAC problem on the spot. All six written reviews, from 2017 to 2025, give five stars. Alexander Yashaev holds an active Massachusetts HVAC licence, #2569-SM-M1. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade. Angi and HomeAdvisor say the company offers free estimates and Spanish-speaking service.
Helped troubleshoot and resolve a problem with my HVAC system through a service call. They were responsive, got to the bottom of the issue quickly, and resolved it on the spot.

My heating stopped working on New Years Day. I went online in search of a Hvac repair service after searching multiple companies I chose Greater Boston HVAC. I called and spoke to Alex and discussed my problem. One hour later he arrived at my apartment, Alex checked system and found problem, water was building up at bottom of furnace luckily it was caught in time if not it would have damaged apartment ceiling below me. I Needed motor replaced luckily I have a portable heater because replacement part took a couple of days. Alex is now on speed dial. Highly recommend him. Thank you again Alex I highly recommend your company to everyone!!!
The only company who returned my call, explained all in details and was able to install AC/Heat in the timely manner. Organized, attention to detail, clean. I highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone!
