A & Z Corporation

A/Z Corporation is a large design-build firm, not a small home-remodeling outfit — the company traces back to 1968, became A/Z Corporation in 1994, and has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cianbro, a 100% employee-owned construction company, since 2019. It works on design, construction and maintenance projects for life-sciences, manufacturing, healthcare, education and energy clients across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; a 2021 news article, for instance, described a director there overseeing projects for pharmaceutical manufacturers including Sanofi and Emergent. There's very little homeowner-facing feedback to go on. The one review on file, from 2020, complains about how the company's branded vehicles were driven on the road rather than about any project or construction work, so it doesn't say much about the quality of A/Z's actual projects. Given the company's focus on large commercial and institutional clients, this isn't the kind of contractor most homeowners would hire directly for a house project. For a large commercial, life-sciences or institutional construction project in the Northeast, A/Z is a well-established, corporately backed option with decades of history behind it — homeowners looking for residential remodeling work should probably look elsewhere.
