Abbott HVAC works out of Stratham and is run by Ted Abbott and his daughter Cassidy, with Tracy handling scheduling; customers name all three. The company says Ted has been in the trade more than 30 years and that Cassidy assisted on her first mini-split install at eight. The business itself is newer: the BBB lists it as starting in August 2023. The emergency stories are the ones that stick. A Buderus system quit a week before the holidays in December 2024, and the customer wrote that Abbott was there within an hour — on a Sunday. That same month another homeowner woke up to no heat, and within ten minutes of arriving Ted traced it to a propane regulator that had frozen after the gas company left a tank cap open with the valve facing up; he capped it, poured hot water over the regulator, and the heat came back. The install side runs bigger than service calls. Writing in 2025, customers described three mini-split heads put in to retire window units, two ceiling cassettes cut into an apartment's ceilings, a cracked oil boiler converted to propane, and a full duct replacement during a remodel. The cassette customer made a point of saying the house was left spotless despite the holes cut in two rooms. Price comes up more than it usually does, and always the same way: fair pricing, a price more than fair on a 1688 house that kept producing surprises, a quote given up front with no charge for the visit. A commenter on r/newhampshire called it a good small local company that does good work for reasonable prices. Its New Hampshire HVAC licence is active. The BBB rates it A+, though it is not a BBB-accredited business, and the company also lists a Universal EPA certification, a CETP skills evaluator certification and a New Hampshire gas fitter licence for Ted — those are its own claims. The one thing to plan around is the calendar. One AC replacement ran about three weeks from first contact to install day, and another customer said they were worked into a busy schedule. So call when the heat dies — the Sunday-within-an-hour accounts speak for themselves — but if you're replacing a system, start the conversation well before the season turns.
