A December 2025 reviewer who has used the company across three homes described him blending a manufactured floor, existing hardwood and new hardwood, and talking through options for differing floor heights. A November 2025 reviewer described a 5-inch oak install on a whole first floor, then a later job stripping paint off old pine upstairs. A February 2025 reviewer had 25 years of dog wear refinished. Customers also praise the epoxy side: a May 2026 reviewer described a garage floor that came out clean and smooth. A March 2025 reviewer laid out the schedule plainly — the floor built in one day, sanding and staining over the next four.
The thing to raise before hiring is the Better Business Bureau file. The company is not BBB accredited and carries a C+ rating, and the BBB states the reason plainly: failure to respond to one complaint filed against the business. One complaint is on file. The complaint's substance is not published, so ask the company directly what it was and how it ended.
The stated history also does not line up. The company's own site says it has served clients since 1995 and a banner claims over 35 years, while the BBB profile records the business as started and incorporated on 5/10/2018 with eight years in business. Ask how long the current corporation has traded and whether the longer figure covers the owner's personal career.
One note on the reviews themselves: every comment on file is five stars, spread from 2023 to August 2026. They read as genuine rather than manufactured — different lengths and voices, repeat customers returning across years, one written in Polish, itemised jobs and materials, and the owner named again and again. One of them, though, is written by another company describing projects it has worked on with Abner, not by a homeowner.
For North Shore hardwood refinishing, tricky matching work or a garage epoxy floor, this is a credible small outfit. Ask about the unresolved BBB complaint, confirm the trading history, and get the schedule and stain choice in writing.
