In October 2023 a homeowner watched Eric Fitzgerald's crew strip a 27-by-71-foot roof, lay half-inch plywood sheathing and shingle the whole house in a single day — then come back and put on insulation board, vinyl siding, shutters and a gutter system across two more. That pace, with the site swept at the end of each day, is what nearly everyone who has written about this company describes. Fitzgerald General Contracting works out of Billerica and says it has been a family construction business since 1975, now in its second generation under Eric Fitzgerald, who the site says meets clients himself and oversees each job. Shawn Fitzgerald is the other name customers use. Most of the work is a house's outside. A May 2026 customer had vinyl siding put on. A June 2026 condo owner had a slider door installed under association rules that dictated the type, and said Eric and Shawn found one that met the requirements at an affordable price. A May 2025 customer had a roof replaced and said Eric kept him informed the whole way through. A 2024 customer had windows, siding, doors and a new roof done together; another had a rotting foyer repaired, doors replaced and an old deck removed and the ground prepared for its replacement. They go inside too — an October 2023 customer had two bathrooms remodeled, a front window replaced, a roof installed and a new wall added. Two accounts say something about how the work ages and how it bends. A 2024 reviewer who says he has been in the trade over 30 years reported that a Fitzgerald job was still standing tall about ten years on, after a powerwash. A 2023 customer had solar panels that needed to come off before the back roof could be finished; the crew went as far as they could, then returned to finish once the panels were gone. All 27 written accounts sit on one Google page, and eight of them were posted inside a week in October 2023. For a roof, siding, a deck or an exterior done in one pass, this is a crew customers describe as fast, tidy and fairly priced. Ask for the home improvement contractor registration number and a written schedule before the deposit — the pace is what people praise, and a schedule is how you hold them to it.
Top shelf service and quality!
Fitzgeralds was easy to work with and the final product was as I’d hoped it would be. Would use again.
Great job Great guys cleaned up awsome would use again
Eric and Shawn and their crew were so nice to work with and did a fantastic job installing our slider door at a very affordable cost. I live in a condo, so they had to work with very specific guidelines about what kind of door to install, and they found a great door that fit the requirements. They worked very efficiently, were super kind and easy to work with, and got the job done within hours. It looks fantastic!
Fast workers and superb workmanship at a reasonable price.
