Allegiance General Contracting is a West Townsend outfit built for whole-house remodeling work — kitchens, bathrooms, additions, decks, and the general construction that comes with it. The company is run by President Bryan Schulman, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, alongside team member Scott Sardina, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Its written history with customers runs 2020 to 2022 across Google and Houzz — dated now, but detailed and real. Most of it praises the same things: showing up on time, explaining the work clearly, and finishing quickly. In a 2020 Google review, one homeowner called the team "phenomenal" after a kitchen remodel and several smaller projects around the house. Another 2020 review described Bryan's crew stepping in after a previous contractor left a renovation half-finished, replacing a spiral staircase and handling HVAC and electrical work in a historic-district home. A third 2020 review credited the crew with finishing a job in a day and a half. Not every account matches that. A 2021 Houzz review described a very different job: a remodel contracted for 12–14 weeks that stretched to 22 weeks before the homeowners could move in, with clapboard siding installed backwards, a roof patch soft enough to push in by hand, a shower bench sloped the wrong way, and edger marks across newly refinished hardwood floors — some of it fixed, some still outstanding as of that review, along with complaints about job-site trash and cleanup. It's specific enough to be worth raising directly before signing a contract. Houzz separately lists a Construction Supervisor number, CS-111661, for the company — a different licence type than its verified state registration, which is normal: Massachusetts issues one to the contracting business and another to its qualifying supervisor, not a sign of a mismatch. For a kitchen, bath, or addition project in the area, Allegiance's history shows a crew capable of communicative, well-finished work, but the 2021 account is detailed enough to warrant asking directly: get the project timeline in writing, ask how delays and change orders get handled, and confirm a plan for daily site cleanup before work starts.
They were very professional and completed my job easy and hassle-free. They worked hard, quickly, and with a smile the whole time, and it was a long time. They are far better than the other I experienced before. I highly recommend them!
In September my husband and I hired Bryan to do some remodeling work of a home we recently purchased. The contract stated the home would be move in ready in 12-14 weeks. However, work had been underway for 22 weeks before we were able to move in. There were multiple times during the project that Bryan promised us we could move in within a few week, but this never happened. In addition to the significant schedule delays, the quality of the work has been poor and much of it had to be redone. Some examples include clapboard siding that was put on backwards and without wrapping the house, a roof patch that was done so poorly that you could push it in with your hand, kitchen island cabinets that were installed so wonky that the countertop could not be installed upon delivery, a marble shower bench that was installed to slope back into the wall instead of toward the drain, and significant edger marks all over the newly refinished hardwood floors. Bryan has resolved some of these while others such as the shower bench and flooring are still awaiting repair (we are now 26 weeks in on a 12-14 week project). Finally, both the interior and exterior of our home were treated very poorly throughout the project. There was damage done to areas of our home that were not being remodeled, such as the marble kitchen countertop and bathroom tiles. Our contract stated a porta potty would be on-site but none was ever delivered and as a consequence we found soda bottles of urine around our house. The dumpster on-site was overflowing for most of the project. Our yard was constantly littered with fast food wrappers, construction trash, and cigarette butts. We mentioned this to Bryan several times but nothing was ever done so my husband and I did our best to go to the home on weekends and clean up after his crew.
Our experience with Bryan from Allegiance has been nothing but a breathe of fresh air. He was easy to schedule an estimate with and showed up on time. He spent over an hour with us going over the various projects we need done in our home (kitchen remodel, carpet replacement, front door repairs, exterior repairs, basement refinish, deck replacement and more). All of which Allegiance does by the way. He was polite, respectful and listened to our needs. We were shocked when he sent us an estimate within 48 hours! So far we have used Allegiance to install our new shutters and pediments (ornamental piece above exterior windows) and we couldn't be happier. He was even willing to work with me on a tight deadline in order to squeeze the work in before a landscaping project. Our house looks like it's had a facelift! I was on the fence about leaving some of the shutters off. Bryan was patient with me as I decided and went above and beyond by cleaning the exterior of the house in the areas I elected not to replace the shutters. A few days after completion of the project we noticed a tear in a second floor window screen. I contacted Bryan regarding the damage and he responded immediately. He had the screen replaced within 48 hours! Punctual, respectful, attentive, and accountable we look forward to working with Bryan and Allegiance again in the future. You will not be disappointed!
Brian was professional, on time, here when he said he would be and finished the job when he said it would be done. His work was exceptional, better than I expected as I had other work done by a previous contractor and was horrified! Brian will be my contrator here on. A-plus for sure!
These guys were phenomenal! Bryan and his team remodeled a kitchen and a few other various small projects around my house. His professionalism and attention to the littlest of details blew us away. I highly recommend Allegiance to anyone in search of a professional remodeling firm. True craftsman, and Bryan was able to work within our budget and time frame. My wife and I could not be happier.
