American Gutter Cleaning & Installations, Inc. is a family-owned gutter company at 1023 East Street in Tewksbury, founded in 1990 by the Rocha family, who the company says still run it. It cleans, repairs and installs gutters, sells gutter caps and screens, and runs a mosquito and tick spray service, across a long list of eastern Massachusetts towns from Abington to Beverly. This is a high-volume outfit, and the feedback reflects it: Google shows 3.5 stars from 154 ratings, with 73 written reviews from 2021 to 2026 and 14 in the last six months, two of them negative. When the crews are good they are very good. This summer a homeowner said foreman Wade and his assistant Marc were outstanding on a new-gutter install, explaining everything and making recommendations; another called a replacement install flawless from quote to finish; several long-time customers described punctual, courteous two-man crews who clean up thoroughly, and a June reviewer said a gutter repair finally stopped rain pouring down on them at the garage. Reviewers repeatedly praise reaching a live person in the office — Jennifer, the assistant manager, and Ned on quotes — and being scheduled within days. Two redditors have vouched for the company too, one in 2026 calling the work really clean and quality, one in 2025 saying the price was reasonable. A December 2024 customer said a crew that missed the garage gutters came back within half an hour on a Sunday to finish.
The complaints have a shape. Cleanups are the most common: in June a customer found debris blown over a freshly cleaned deck and furniture, and in November 2025 another said the crew blew leaves onto the siding, windows, grill, HVAC unit and generator. Scheduling and communication are the other thread — reviewers in 2021, 2022 and 2023 described installs and cleanings running weeks past the quoted window with little contact, and a 2023 reviewer said the company misrepresented when the window had started. A 2021 reviewer said they were charged more than the quote and the card was run anyway; a 2022 reviewer said ladders leaned on copper gutters caused damage; a 2023 reviewer said a crew showed up unasked and cleaned gutters another company had already done; and in May a homeowner said the company declined a hard-to-reach gutter replacement as not worth its time. Safety comes up from two directions: a 2023 customer described what they saw as OSHA violations — one ladder, no fall protection — and OSHA's own record shows a citation for failing to ensure a worker used a personal fall arrest system while cleaning gutters about 30 feet up, on or about November 25, 2014.
For routine gutter cleaning or a straightforward seamless-gutter install, this is an established, licensed company with plenty of satisfied repeat customers and a real office to call; ask for a firm scheduling window in writing, say up front how you want debris handled, confirm the price before the crew arrives, and ask what the company's fall-protection practice is today.
