Anthony's Abatement is an asbestos abatement company. A recent customer replacing a 75-year-old forced air system says the HVAC company found asbestos while demolishing the old ducts, and that Jake Derosia, the representative from Anthony's Abatement, spent more than a half hour looking for asbestos in the basement and an equal amount of time explaining what was needed. That customer says a crew headed by Mark Benbow came on a Saturday so the duct replacement schedule could go on as scheduled, communicated with the HVAC company and left the basement clean. The abatement report that customer received afterward included the air monitor summary, images of where the asbestos was removed and the certificates for the asbestos monitor. A recent customer says Mark and his assistant came to remove old fireproof filing cabinets containing asbestos, arrived on time, protected the work area, wrapped and removed the units and cleaned up after themselves. A recent customer had old asbestos tiles removed from their basement and says there was communication before and during the abatement work, and that they liked knowing who was working on the project each day. A recent customer says Mark Benbow and his team worked in their hazmat suits in very hot and humid conditions and cleaned up the work areas. The work goes beyond asbestos. A recent customer says Mark and the team did a one day stairway demolition in their 100+ year old home and cleaned up very well. A recent customer says they worked with Mike to assess the scope of damage from a water leak in their new home. In a July 2026 r/westhartford Reddit thread, a commenter who used Anthony's Abatement when buying a house, including for asbestos removal, called the company thorough and professional.
“We used Anthony’s abatement for this (and also asbestos removal) when we bought our house. They were thorough and professional.”
What can I say other than these guys are the best! I had to have a complete replacement of my home's 75-year-old forced air system and during the demolition of the old ducts, the HVAC company I employed to do the work found asbestos, and requested that I get asbestos remediation ASAP. I looked at a number of abatement companies, and just in the preliminaries alone, I found Jake Derosia, the representative from Anthony's Abatement, to be the most knowledgeable of the representatives I spoke with and the most thorough -he spent more than a half hour just looking for asbestos in the basement and spent an equal amount of time explaining to me what was needed and how Anthony's Abatement would proceed. When Jake found that I was out of my house because of the ductwork remediation, he was able to find a very generous crew, headed by Mark Benbow, to come to do the remediation on a Saturday, so that the duct replacement schedule could go on as scheduled. Mark and his crew were on time, and communicated with the HVAC company, to be sure everyone was in synch with the parts of the duct system that were to be removed. Some of the asbestos was on duct work that required a good deal of skill to remove without affecting the air conditioner - Mark and the guys did an absolutely beautiful job with it, and left the basement so clean when they left, that I don't remember it looking or smelling that good. The abatement report I received afterward included the air monitor summary, images of where the asbestos was removed, as well as the certificates and updated training certificates for the asbestos monitor. Overall, communication was superb, and Anthony's Abatement's willingness to go the extra mile for its customers was evident at every step of the process - including the price - I can't tell you how relieved I was when I first saw it! I highly recommend this company - unlike many home contractors Ive dealt with, Anthony's Abatement is honest and actually cares about its clients.
Mark and his assistant were at our house today to remove old fireproof filing cabinets containing asbestos. They arrived on time, protected the work area, and wrapped and removed the units as expected. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure we were happy with their work before leaving. We highly recommend this company
Mile was extremely pleasant, efficient and thorough! A wonderful experience and I would certainly recommend this company to friends. Thank you
Very professional, job site clean, couldn’t ask for a better job
Great company, great people. Mike was exceptional from beginning to end, as I had questions throughout the process. He was always quick to respond and come assure us as needed. Would recommend Anthony's to others!
