Apollo Pools and Spas is a Lakeville, Massachusetts pool and spa dealer that builds and installs in-ground and above-ground pools, sells hot tubs, and runs the recurring seasonal work — pool openings, closings, water testing, and repairs. It's been a BBB-accredited business with an A+ grade since 2012, and Google shows well over 300 ratings for the shop. The reviews are thick with named staff and specific jobs. In a 2023 review, a customer describes owner Matt Collins running a 16x36 in-ground pool install start to finish in a week and a half — 'the fastest pool installation I have ever seen.' In a 2022 review, a liner-replacement crew led by Mike and Dennis finished the job in a single day; in a 2021 review, another liner-replacement crew pumped out the old pool, let it dry, and installed the new liner from start to finish. Sales and service staff get named just as often — Tracey, Nigel, Simon, and Jen show up across reviews for spa sales, pool closings, and part diagnoses. In a 2024 review, a customer describes calling during a holiday week with a skimmer leak and getting squeezed in within 24 hours. Another 2024 review says the customer shopped six companies before choosing Apollo for its reputation and price. There's also a real pattern worth knowing about before buying: parts and warranty disputes show up repeatedly across different years. In a 2023 review, a customer describes a four-month wait for a hot-tub part with no proactive updates. In a 2024 review, a customer describes a filter that cracked under a year old, being told they'd have to pay an extra $300 for a used replacement to file a warranty claim, and an employee allegedly using profanity toward a 58-year-old customer who had had a stroke. In a 2025 review, a customer describes a loop-loc liner that ripped six years after installation and a refused warranty claim over missing paperwork from a previous installer. A separate 2025 review describes being charged more than double the online rate for a pool motor with no real explanation. A 2024 review also describes an employee shouting at a customer over the phone in front of others. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration has expired, per the state registry. For a straightforward install, opening, closing, or repair, the reviews are strongly positive and name the same handful of staff again and again — worth asking, before any purchase involving a manufacturer warranty, exactly how Apollo handles a claim if something goes wrong.
If you are looking for a pool you will not be dissapointed with Apollo. After having our pool damaged in the blizzard I contacted many places and did not feel confident whether it was customer service or available options. Matt from Apollo was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to quickly purchase a pool that was not even an option at other places. The Carvin Lava is absolutely beautiful we continue to get compliments that our pool looks so luxury and not common. Our family is so happy to have had the best experience and the ability to have had an install before the summer. Thank you so so much I will always recommend Apollo to anyone looking!
Friendly Staff Very helpful and knowledgeable Answered all questions
The website is done poorly. You cannot look at any prices without giving them all your info first. Not good business.
We bought a hot tub in December of 2024. The sales, delivery, and water testing desk have all exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!!!!!
Our loop-loc liner ripped only 6 years after being installed, and they refused to honor the warranty. Since our previous installer never gave us the warranty paperwork so we could review the terms and conditions (and has since gone out of business), we were forced to pay for a new liner out of pocket. In comes Apollo Pool. They were one of the few pool companies that responded to our call, and came out to give us an estimate. They provided said estimate in writing in an email (there was no documents attached), telling us that they would order the liner once they had our deposit. We called and asked for an actual contract before committing and were told there was no way they could email us one; we would have to drive the 10 miles to their office. We drove down, and received a copy (a form filled in by hand) and gave them our credit card to run the deposit. Fine. We were told that the liner would take 2-3 weeks. When this timeframe passed, we had to keep calling Matt for an update, who was never available when we called. Pool liner finally arrives, and I was seriously dismayed when I stood at the front door to greet the installers, and instead, they went around my house and let themselves into my yard. They had no idea if I had a dog that bites (I do) or if he would escape if they left the gate open (he sometimes will) and had no intention of saying a word to me. They stuck around for a few hours and did a good job (we hope). When we saw them cleaning up, my son told them that my husband was literally 5 minutes up the road on his way home from work, could they please stick around so he could look the work over before they left? They got in the van and left like their rears were on fire, passing him less than a block from our house. Worse, I had a check waiting for them for the remainder due. I had thought I would give it to my husband to hand to them, but they left so fast we couldn't pay them. So, I waited for a few weeks to see when Matt would reach out, while the check waited here in case he dropped by. Turns out, he waited several weeks and then just automatically hit the card he put the deposit on. He did not have our authority to do this as it was not the account we planned on using. He didn't contact us in any way beforehand (we had been waiting). We figured we would just move money around and deal with it, but we started reaching out to him asking him for a copy of the warranty so we would not be back in the same position we were before (we don't know the serial number of the liner and can't register it ourselves. nor do we have the name and contact information of the liner's maker). When we first reached out, he said that his wife had put the paperwork in the mail two days prior (that was over five weeks ago, and we still have nothing). When we mentioned how unhappy we were with the employees, he brushed it off. Realizing there was nothing coming in the mail, we've spent several more weeks of leaving messages and have since been ignored. We have finally been forced to dispute the unauthorized charge to our credit card in a hope to get this resolved. Although the liner looked good when completed, we had to immediately close the pool for the winter, so we're hoping it's fine, but we were very unhappy with the unprofessionalism of the employees, and even more unhappy with the difficulty of communicating with Matt once he had our money. A little communication by the employees (just a quick "hello! We're here!") would have been nice, but a copy of our warranty paperwork would have kept me from leaving this poor review. We are so disappointed with the poor management of this company.
