Appliance Guy of Cape Cod has a split reputation on paper: Angi and HomeAdvisor put it at 4.5 stars from 131 ratings each, but the written Google reviews behind that number, running back to 2018, tell a rougher story. The East Falmouth repair shop, graded A+ by the Better Business Bureau, has spent that stretch fixing refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers and ovens across the Cape. When it goes well, it moves fast. In 2025, a Sub Zero refrigerator's broken fan got fixed within about two hours of an 8am call, the part already in the van. Two technicians, Paul and Paulo, turn up by name across reviews from 2019 through 2025, described again and again as on time, communicative and pleasant to deal with. The same span holds a repeating complaint, though: jobs that never quite get finished. A customer says that in December 2025 they paid $150 for a diagnosis and nobody ever came back to do the repair. Around the same time, another customer describes a commercial dryer job that ran nearly two months through missed and rescheduled appointments without fixing the noise or drying-time problem it was hired for, despite prepaying. In 2024, a customer says a GE washer was serviced three separate times without a lasting fix, and the company stopped responding when a refund was requested; a 2022 review describes a $400 damper replacement that didn't quiet a noisy fridge, with no promised callback. Ask what happens if the first repair doesn't hold, and pin down a firm appointment window before booking — nearly every negative account here turns on scheduling and follow-through rather than a wrong diagnosis. Recent activity is thin either way: only one review has landed in the past six months, and it was a good one.
Did a wonderful job fixing our old but very loved refrigerator, after the first visit, it wasn’t the part that we were hoping needed to be repaired and he came right out again to reassess. Communication was 10 out of 10 and they charged us a pretty fair price considering the amount of time it took to find the problem and fix it. Will absolutely be using again for any appliance repair needs we have.
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Appliance Guy regarding the repair of a commercial dryer for my business. Service began in late October and continued for nearly two months with multiple visits, scheduling errors, missed appointments, incorrect or delayed parts, and ongoing communication issues. Despite prepaying for repairs, both original problems (excessive noise and very long drying times) were never resolved. Appointments were scheduled or attempted on days our business is closed, despite having confirmed service dates and time windows in advance. In another instance, the technicians arrived well before the scheduled window. As an appointment-based business working directly with clients, unannounced early arrivals or attempts to service on closed days are highly disruptive because staff are not present, treatment rooms are in use, and client sessions are interrupted to accommodate access. Technicians also struggled to communicate effectively, and I frequently had to initiate follow-ups to get updates. Even after several attempted repairs and assurances, the dryer remains loud enough to disrupt client sessions and still does not dry efficiently. When I formally requested a refund due to the unresolved issues, I was told parts and service calls were non-refundable, with only a partial labor refund offered. I would not recommend this company for commercial appliance repairs, particularly if reliability, communication, and accountability are important to your business.
They charged $150 to diagnose my washer, set an appointment and never showed up to do the service. I would never recommend doing business with them to anyone.
Knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. I have had them here twice for stove and dryer. Happy with both appointments!
They told me what I already knew, that the compressor wasn't working on my LG refridgerator, but couldn't fix it and just told me to call LG customer service. Apparently they don't fix LG compressors. It would have been nice to know this before the $190 service call.
