Arch Painting, Inc.

Arch Painting has grown from a regional Massachusetts painting company into a national commercial operation — named to the Inc. 5000 for a second straight year and opening new regional offices in Texas and North Carolina in 2026 — but the bulk of its review history is still homeowners describing crews painting houses across Massachusetts. On Google, 133 ratings average 4.5 stars, with Angi and HomeAdvisor both around 4.6 from roughly 130 ratings each. The strongest reviews describe attentive project managers — Mike, Joe, and Pat among others are named repeatedly — who walk the job with the homeowner, coordinate around other trades like a simultaneous roof replacement, and crews that finish exterior repaints, deck work, and wood-rot repair cleanly and on schedule. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and the Better Business Bureau has accredited it with an A+ grade. The clearest theme in the complaints, though, isn't a one-off — it repeats across several years. A 2023 review describes a house painted in 2018 that peeled, was repainted the following year, peeled again, and needed a third repaint; a 2024 review describes paint peeling after three years with a slow, ultimately unsatisfying response from the company; a 2021 review from a Providence job describes a stain job with recurring problems. A 2025 review separately describes a language barrier with the crew and carpentry work that ran long on hourly billing. Given how often premature peeling comes up across otherwise very different jobs and years, it's worth asking directly about paint prep, primer, and what the workmanship warranty actually covers before signing. One more thing worth confirming: the company's own site now describes itself as commercial-only, with residential work spun off under the Paintzen brand — yet recent reviews into 2026 still describe homeowners hiring Arch Painting directly for house painting. It's worth confirming which entity would actually handle a residential job today. For a well-managed exterior repaint with a strong project manager on-site, the track record here is solid; for anything where surface prep matters most, get the prep and warranty terms spelled out.
