Arch Painting is a Boston-based commercial and residential painting company — self-described as based in Woburn — recently named to the Inc. 5000 for a second straight year as it expands into new regional offices. It carries a verified active Massachusetts home improvement contractor license and an accredited A+ BBB rating, and its averages run consistently in the mid-4s: 4.5★ on Google (133 ratings), 4.6★ on both Angi and HomeAdvisor (129 ratings each), and 4.5★ on Best Pick Reports. The written record, running back to 2016 across seven sources, is large enough to show a real range. On the strong end, reviewers repeatedly point to attentive project management — a property manager praised "Joe and crew" for seamless turnovers between residents in a 2026 review, and a 2025 review described project manager Michael coordinating a siding repaint around a simultaneous roof replacement. The company has also taken on unusually large or complex jobs: a 2024 review described painting a restaurant built into train cars on Cape Cod after other local painters didn't know how to approach it, and another described a 7,400-square-foot home with 40-foot ceilings and wood-rot repair that came in at half the price of a competing quote. Site care shows up often too, with reviewers mentioning shoe covers, daily cleanup, and careful protection of property. The record also holds real, specific complaints worth knowing about. Two different customers, years apart, described paint peeling prematurely — one whose house peeled and was repainted three times going back to 2018, another whose paint failed within three years and who described a slow, ultimately unresponsive process trying to get it addressed under warranty. A handful of other reviews describe carpentry or prep work that fell short of the painting itself: a 2025 review cited a crew with communication gaps and carpentry billed by the hour due to a lack of proper tools, and a 2021 review described an unresolved uneven stain job in Providence despite a project manager's assurance it would be fixed. Recent activity is clean — the last four reviews carry no complaints — but the pattern above is real enough, and recurring enough across different years and customers, to be worth asking about directly: specifically, what the warranty process looks like if paint fails early. Arch is a reasonable call for a sizable exterior or interior repaint, especially one involving coordination with other trades or an unusual surface — the record shows they can handle scale. Get the paint-longevity warranty and the carpentry/prep scope spelled out in writing before work starts.

Excellent service and definitely cared about the quality of their work. Head and shoulders above the other paint company I was using in terms of reliability, process and results. They were able to be on-site rapidly and worked around our schedule – even helped with expertise on what finish to use and even colors. Very easy to work with and happily would use them again. You definitely pay for what you get!
Great company, they take a lot of pride in their work and it shows.
Timely quote given. Project scheduled a few weeks later. Unfortunately will require some touch up painting but they left matching paint thankfully, otherwise would have been higher rating.
As a property manager for a large residential community, Arch Painting is always there to help us prepare a new home for the next incoming resident. On time, professional, transparent, clean and neat. Always seamless! Thanks Joe and Crew!
The team from Arch painting was great. Easy to work with and they finished on time and on budget.
