I had an outlet that wasn’t functioning properly with a connected switch. They lied to me that the outlet had never been hooked up and that the switch was a dummy, despite them working properly before. He placed a blank plate over the outlet, I paid him and left. I had to hire another electrician to fix their work. A mouse was nesting the wall and had chewed the wiring. The second electrician was at a loss for why he’d install a blank switch plate instead of replacing the wiring. I don’t know if he was just incompetent or didn’t want to deal with a mouse corpse.
