Septic repairs, replacements and sewer connections bring customers to B & B Excavation in Sandwich. The company says Bob and Becky Gilfoy founded it in 1998 and now operate it with help from their grown children. Its stated services cover Cape Cod and beyond, including excavation, Title V septic work, sewer and water lines, site development, demolition and land clearing. An April 2026 Google reviewer praised the crew for taking time to explain issues and things to watch for, washing the tank as needed rather than simply emptying it, and cleaning up afterward. A May reviewer described prompt service, responsive office staff and fair pricing. Another May customer praised the service and quality of a 10-yard delivery. Google showed a 4.8-star average from 34 ratings in August 2026. A customer writing in August 2025 described a septic backup over Thanksgiving 2023. Another company found a cracked, root-infiltrated pipe; the customer then chose B & B from three repair quotes. They said B & B stuck to its quote, left little visible disturbance and promptly sent requested pictures after finishing because the customer was away during the repairs. In a November 2025 review, a different customer credited Ricky and his team with a town sewer connection and tank abandonment, saying they left the property in good condition. Two older reviews describe damage to irrigation lines and dissatisfaction with the response. A May 2024 customer said the crew punctured irrigation lines while pumping the septic system in March 2024. The customer said B & B offered no help, told them it was not responsible for private lines, and had not discussed a liability waiver beforehand. An August 2025 reviewer also reported a punctured irrigation line and said no repair help or apology was offered. These are the customers' accounts of the damage and the company's response. For a septic replacement described in June 2024, a neighbor assisting the homeowner praised the crew's explanations and consideration of the homeowner's communication preferences, singling out Marci and Meghan in the office. A June 2023 customer said B & B replaced the outside portion of a septic system in one day, then covered it and added loam and seed on the second day.
