The jobs customers describe are interior remodels. A September 2016 client had two bathrooms gutted and rebuilt and wrote that things happened when Scott said they would. In June 2016, a bigger project took in a kitchen, three bathrooms and new first-floor windows, with the owner kept in the loop daily. A January 2021 homeowner whose basement had one of the most uneven floors Scott had ever seen said he stayed in touch throughout and kept checking in. Permits match that scale of work: a $60,260 kitchen job in Newton in 2021 and a $29,960 kitchen and dining remodel in West Newton in 2017. The written history is long but weighted to the past — 17 accounts between 2014 and August 2023, seven of them written in 2016. The 2023 ones are shorter: a kitchen countertop replaced, and the remodel client who praised the planning stage before the build began. One thing to square away on the first call. In a September 2015 review, a customer wrote that the company would not give them its contractor licence number and questioned why they were asking; the company answered in May 2023 that its information is public and it would have provided it. Ask for the licence details up front, in writing, along with the name of the entity you would be contracting with. For a kitchen, a bathroom gut or a basement where the owner runs the job himself, this is a straightforward call — what customers keep describing is being told what was happening and when. Settle the licence paperwork and the schedule before demolition day, and get the quote in writing the way that 2016 emergency customer did.
