Bath Fitter's Stoneham location at 41 Elm Street is a locally owned business trading under the corporate name Culco, Inc., run by owner Timothy J. Cullen with seven employees and in business since 1995. It fits acrylic tub-over-tub liners, wall systems and shower enclosures, replaces bathtubs, and converts tubs to walk-in showers, usually as a one-day installation. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+ and has accredited it since 2001. The positive accounts are specific and name the people who did the work. In a 2025 review a homeowner described a one-day install with Bill in sales, John doing the plumbing and Nick fitting the tub overlay, walls and doors; when a door guide was off, the whole crew came back the next day to put it right and left the site clean. A 2024 reviewer said a tub and shower installed in 2011 had held up for almost thirteen years, and that when water got under the acrylic overlay the company fixed it within three days - Nick resealed it and Jon replaced old copper pipes that broke during the repair. In a 2023 review a condo owner on a third floor said the conversion came out better than imagined and that five other bathroom companies had quoted far more. One account runs the other way and is worth reading before you sign. In a January 2024 review a customer said the new walk-in shower would not drain the day after installation, that the salesman told their 90-year-old mother to sort it out with the installing plumber, that two days of calls went unreturned, and that an outside plumber they hired pulled a glob of caulking out of the drain - leaving them convinced the warranty was not being honoured. A June 2026 reviewer left one star with no detail. This is the right call for a homeowner who wants a fast, low-disruption tub or shower replacement from an established local operator with a long BBB record. Before signing, get the warranty terms and the callback process in writing, ask who to contact when something goes wrong after installation, and confirm the plumbing work will be done under a permit by a licensed plumber.
Horrible dont use
Great experience with Bathfitters of Woburn. Starting with Bill in sales, he walked me through the process outlining all the details. Installation took just a day with John installing new plumbing and Nick installing tub overlay, walls and doors. There was a small issue with the door guide. They all returned the next day to make it right and insure the job was completed. All three guys were a pleasure to work with. The job site was left very clean when completed. Thanks to all
I had a tub/shower remodel from Bath Fitters back in 2011. It has held up very well, for almost 13 years. Recently I noticed an air pocket and then water eventually got under the acrylic overlay. I called Bath Fitter and within 3 days it was fixed. Nick did such a great job with the tub, taking out the overlay and then resealing it. But he ran into some unforeseeable plumbing issues where very old copper pipes broke and needed to be replaced. Within a half hour Jon (the plumber) arrived and replaced those old copper pipes. I can't say enough about Bath Fitters and both Nick and Jon. I highly recommend this company and if you are lucky enough you will get Nick and Jon to do your job.
Great place
Bath Fitters finished on Friday replacing the tub with a walk-in shower.. My elderly father attempted to take a shower on Saturday but the water wouldn't drain at all. Called Greg the sales guy and he said to my 90 year old mother to hash it out with the Bath Fitter plumber who did the work. We tried 2 days in a row but they wouldn't return our calls so we called a regular plumber who pulled out a glob of caulking. What this also means too is that there is NO WARRANTY as claimed. If they won't even return a call then this is nothing but a hit and run outfit right? The DESERVE this rating. For those of you who things went well for then good for you but anyone else thinking of doing business with them should beware.
