Bath Masters, LLC remodels bathrooms: its website describes custom master bathrooms, tub-to-walk-in-shower conversions and complete bathroom remodels, and says the company has been in business 20 years. The service area it lists includes Fairfield, Wilton, Norwalk, Darien, Westport, Greenwich, Stamford and Trumbull. A recent Google customer said the renovation of their 7.5-by-7.5-foot bathroom extended over three months and was abandoned before the work was completed. That customer described repeated workmanship deficiencies, missed appointments and no-shows, and said Mr. Ken Janz repeatedly assured them the work would be completed soon. The same customer wrote that the company is based in Shelton, CT, not Fairfield. A 2025 Google customer called the work fantastic and the people great. The company holds an A+ grade with the Better Business Bureau.
We are submitting this complaint to document our experience with Bath Masters LLC (based in Shelton, CT and not Fairfield as they claim to be) and to alert other consumers who may be considering hiring this company. Our ongoing contractor difficulties began with the renovation of our relatively small 7.5-by-7.5-foot bathroom, a project that extended over THREE MONTHS and was ultimately abandoned before the work was completed. From virtually the first day of the project, we experienced significant anxiety, frustration, and stress as a result of repeated workmanship deficiencies and problems with the work being performed. These issues, along with our communications and efforts to have them addressed, are fully documented. The prolonged timeline and eventual abandonment of the project were not the result of unreasonable expectations, excessive oversight, or requests for specialty materials. Rather, the delays resulted from repeated workmanship deficiencies, missed appointments and no-shows, incomplete work, and the need to correct or revisit work that had not been properly completed the first time. Despite the passage of three months, substantial portions of the contracted work remained incomplete when the project was ultimately abandoned. Throughout the project, Mr. Ken Janz repeatedly assured us that the work would be completed soon and that the outstanding issues would be addressed. We relied on those assurances and continued to wait for the project to be completed. Unfortunately, the promised completion date never arrived. We had a reasonable expectation that the contracted work would be performed professionally, properly, and within a reasonable timeframe and it was not. We are posting this complaint so that our experience is documented and prospective customers can make an informed decision before engaging Bath Masters LLC. Our concerns are based on the actual events of the project, the condition in which the work was left, and the extensive documentation we have maintained throughout the process.
