Bay State Remodeling's customers write about the same thing over and over: the person running their job. Marcio, Andreina, David, Dayna, Ray, Clara — the names recur across 180 Google ratings averaging 4.8 and 81 Houzz ratings at 5.0, usually attached to a kitchen or a bathroom that got torn back to studs and put together on a schedule. The specifics are unusually concrete. A December 2024 customer had a full kitchen, dining room and primary bath done in 12 weeks. A November 2025 couple on a deadline with a baby coming said the kitchen conversion landed on schedule. In April 2026 a South End homeowner added a bedroom during a major renovation; that March another finished the space above their garage and added an office; in February a basement remodel. The company works commercially too — a café at Patriot Place was remodeled in April 2026. Several reviewers are on their second or third project. One thing has to be said plainly, because it is a matter of state record rather than opinion: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration held under the name Bay State Remodeling, number 116757, is expired. For a remodeling contractor, that registration is not optional the way it is for some specialty trades, and it is the first thing to raise before any contract is signed — ask what registration the work will be performed under and get the number. Two other accounts are worth reading. In July 2023 a reviewer alleged the company spent more effort pursuing negative reviews and threatening legal action over them than doing the work; that allegation, unresolved as it is, bears on how much weight the near-perfect star averages should carry. And in October 2021 a reviewer said the company works only in single-family homes, which matters if you own a condo. A February 2026 Reddit commenter who has used them repeatedly gave the most balanced read on the workmanship itself: the big items have been good and the pricing reasonable, but the finishing has not always been perfect. Another commenter, pricing a bathroom addition in June 2024, said Bay State was worth getting a quote from. For a gut kitchen or bathroom in the Boston area, or a whole-house renovation with a real timeline attached, Bay State has one of the deeper and more detailed recent records around — seven written accounts in the last six months alone. Go in asking two questions first: what the current registration status is, and how finish carpentry and punch-list items get closed out, since that is where the one consistent workmanship criticism lands.
“We’ve used Bay State Remodeling for a lot of work. Some of their finishing hasn’t been perfect, but the big stuff has been food and they are relatively reasonably priced and fast.”
“That’s about what we paid for basically the same remodel. Bay State Remodel was good if you’re looking for another quote.”
We recently completed an interior renovation with the Bay State team. Marcio took great care of us throughout - We especially appreciated his thoughtfulness on working out a handful of details with us as the work progressed. We are very happy with how our project turned out.
*CHECK OUT BAY STATE'S 03-22-26 INSTAGRAM POST FOR A VIEW OF OUR BATHROOM!* -- it's worth a look! ✨✨

My wife and I have lived in our home for almost 25 years and, in that time, have undertaken a variety of home repair projects. We've done routine projects (new porches, a new roof). We've also done large projects (new dormers, attic finishing, and basement finishing). Bay State Remodeling recently completed our 4th bathroom renovation in our two-family, four-story home. Simply put: (1) The experience was excellent in every respect; and (2) I only wish we had met them earlier for past projects!

Andreina's project management was spectacular. Marcio, Clara, and literally everyone on the project were super. While my wife and I are good people (I think!) and communicate clearly (I hope!), we are detail-oriented and care about the finer nuances. Not only did Bay State fully address our objectives and wish list, but they also enhanced our initial ideas with their expertise.

We've never experienced such clear communication, right from the very beginning of our project's planning phase. Andreina's updates and status reports guided us through the process without any concerns. As areas emerged that required a bit of problem-solving and subjective decisions, we always received clear guidance from Andreina and her team, along with excellent options when extra decision-making was needed.

Our new bathroom is truly an oasis. We won't hesitate to work with Bay State again, and we unequivocally recommend them for any home project you are considering. I will gladly serve as a reference for anyone interested in specific details about the process and what to expect. It was eye-opening to work with a construction team that was so responsive, punctual, kind, and easy to work with.
We recently completed a major renovation with Bay State Remodeling at our home in the South End, and the experience exceeded every expectation. The project included adding a new bedroom and bathroom, renovating two additional bathrooms, installing new floors throughout, painting, and upgrading our HVAC system — a huge undertaking that was handled flawlessly from start to finish.

What truly stood out was the professionalism, communication, and organization of the entire team. Jimmy, Clara, Andreina, Marcio, and David were all incredible to work with. Everyone was responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. Communication throughout the project was outstanding — we always knew what was happening, timelines were clearly communicated, and any questions were answered immediately.

Most impressively, the project stayed on time and on budget, which is rare for a renovation of this size. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional, and the finished result completely transformed our home.

We could not be happier with Bay State Remodeling and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a renovation project in Boston.
Bay State Remodeling is an excellent choice! They have just completed a bathroom and closet remodeling job for us, and everything about the experience was more than satisfactory. The communication was timely, the pricing more than fair, and the workmanship outstanding. Each of their subcontractors, as well as the design specialist, worked with us to deal with whatever complications arose in dealing with a very old house. We’re so happy to have worked with them.
We worked with Bay State Remodeling to remodel our café (Angel's Cafe) at Patriot Place and it was a really good experience. From the beginning, I had ideas but didn’t really know how to put everything together. They helped a lot with the design and made things make sense. I never felt rushed or ignored, which I really appreciated. The renovation itself went smoothly, and the place looks completely different now. It feels more open, more welcoming, and just better for customers. A lot of people have already told us they like the new space. It was very easy to work with David, Andreina and Marcio and I would recommend them for sure.
