Bay State Remodeling is the kind of company people hire when a project stops being a single-room swap and starts needing one firm to coordinate design, construction, and the moving parts in between. In recent Google reviews, that meant an interior renovation, a South End project that added a bedroom and bathroom while reworking two more baths, a café remodel, an office and mudroom built out from space above a garage, and a basement remodel. The company says it has worked as a Greater Boston design-build remodeler since 2007, founded and led by Ray Yehoshua, with one project lead assigned to each job. The review history is substantial. Google shows 4.8 stars from 180 ratings, Houzz shows 5.0 from 81, BBB gives the business an A+ grade, and reviews span six sources from 2021 through 2026. The thread running through the recent comments is management as much as finish work: customers describe getting help turning ideas into a workable plan, regular communication during construction, and someone staying involved as details changed. One June reviewer thanked Marcio for working through details during an interior renovation; an April café owner said the team helped make sense of the design; another homeowner said Bay State stepped into a project that had already been started by another contractor and finished the office, mudroom, and over-garage space. The longer run of reviews leans heavily toward kitchens and bathrooms, but the recent jobs show a broader general-contractor lane too: additions, basements, multi-room interiors, and commercial work. That mix matters. If you want one firm to handle a full remodel rather than just a single trade, Bay State looks set up for that kind of job. There are two things worth clearing up before you sign. BBB says the company has 27 years in business, while the company website and Houzz profile say it was founded in 2007, so ask them to explain the timeline plainly. The latest six months also included one negative review, which makes it worth confirming who your project lead will be, how design changes will be handled, and what the billing checkpoints look like once work is underway. Bay State makes the most sense for homeowners planning a bathroom, kitchen, basement, or larger interior remodel and wanting design and construction handled by one firm. Before booking, pin down the company-history discrepancy, meet the person who will run your job day to day, and make sure the update and payment rhythm matches how you want a renovation managed.

We recently completed an interior renovation with the Bay State team. Marcio took great care of us throughout - We especially appreciated his thoughtfulness on working out a handful of details with us as the work progressed. We are very happy with how our project turned out.

*CHECK OUT BAY STATE'S 03-22-26 INSTAGRAM POST FOR A VIEW OF OUR BATHROOM!* -- it's worth a look! ✨✨

My wife and I have lived in our home for almost 25 years and, in that time, have undertaken a variety of home repair projects. We've done routine projects (new porches, a new roof). We've also done large projects (new dormers, attic finishing, and basement finishing). Bay State Remodeling recently completed our 4th bathroom renovation in our two-family, four-story home. Simply put: (1) The experience was excellent in every respect; and (2) I only wish we had met them earlier for past projects!

Andreina's project management was spectacular. Marcio, Clara, and literally everyone on the project were super. While my wife and I are good people (I think!) and communicate clearly (I hope!), we are detail-oriented and care about the finer nuances. Not only did Bay State fully address our objectives and wish list, but they also enhanced our initial ideas with their expertise.

We've never experienced such clear communication, right from the very beginning of our project's planning phase. Andreina's updates and status reports guided us through the process without any concerns. As areas emerged that required a bit of problem-solving and subjective decisions, we always received clear guidance from Andreina and her team, along with excellent options when extra decision-making was needed.

Our new bathroom is truly an oasis. We won't hesitate to work with Bay State again, and we unequivocally recommend them for any home project you are considering. I will gladly serve as a reference for anyone interested in specific details about the process and what to expect. It was eye-opening to work with a construction team that was so responsive, punctual, kind, and easy to work with.

We recently completed a major renovation with Bay State Remodeling at our home in the South End, and the experience exceeded every expectation. The project included adding a new bedroom and bathroom, renovating two additional bathrooms, installing new floors throughout, painting, and upgrading our HVAC system — a huge undertaking that was handled flawlessly from start to finish.

What truly stood out was the professionalism, communication, and organization of the entire team. Jimmy, Clara, Andreina, Marcio, and David were all incredible to work with. Everyone was responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. Communication throughout the project was outstanding — we always knew what was happening, timelines were clearly communicated, and any questions were answered immediately.

Most impressively, the project stayed on time and on budget, which is rare for a renovation of this size. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional, and the finished result completely transformed our home.

We could not be happier with Bay State Remodeling and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a renovation project in Boston.

Bay State Remodeling is an excellent choice! They have just completed a bathroom and closet remodeling job for us, and everything about the experience was more than satisfactory. The communication was timely, the pricing more than fair, and the workmanship outstanding. Each of their subcontractors, as well as the design specialist, worked with us to deal with whatever complications arose in dealing with a very old house. We’re so happy to have worked with them.

We worked with Bay State Remodeling to remodel our café (Angel's Cafe) at Patriot Place and it was a really good experience. From the beginning, I had ideas but didn’t really know how to put everything together. They helped a lot with the design and made things make sense. I never felt rushed or ignored, which I really appreciated. The renovation itself went smoothly, and the place looks completely different now. It feels more open, more welcoming, and just better for customers. A lot of people have already told us they like the new space. It was very easy to work with David, Andreina and Marcio and I would recommend them for sure.
