Ben's Carpentry

Decks, porches, doors, windows and cabinets — Ben's Carpentry sticks to the trade its name claims, out of 5 Center St in Methuen. Deck repair is listed alongside new deck and porch work, so it takes the fix-the-rot jobs as well as the build-it-new ones. Five projects show on its BuildZoom page, drawn from Methuen's own building permits. One thing to settle before you call. The Massachusetts registry records licence #124198, held in the business's name, as expired, and BuildZoom lists that same number with an expiration date in 2001. Ask whether the business is registered today, get the current number, and look it up yourself on the state's Consumer Affairs register. For a deck rebuild, a porch repair or a run of cabinets in Methuen, this is a small local carpenter's shop. Settle the registration question first, ask for a certificate of liability insurance, and get the scope and payment schedule in writing before any deposit.
