Bestick sells the season, not the build: weekly cleanings, spring openings, fall closings, and the repairs in between — leak detection, acid washing, tile, coping and replastering. The company says it has been doing it out of Cohasset since 1957, with about ten people on the payroll. The 2025 reviews are specific about that rhythm. In November 2025 a customer wrote that the owner works to get pools serviced in time for holidays, parties and a good sunny weekend, and mentioned that the business has been under new management since 2016; that March, another credited them with handling the opening, the closing, and whatever else came up. A 2023 reviewer put it a different way — the staff knew their work, and he never felt he was being swindled. Going further back, a 2007 Angi customer described new coping, tile and a full replaster that left the pool looking new. Set against that, the numbers are thinner than the praise. Google averages 3.4 across eight ratings — lower than the quoted reviews alone would suggest — and the entire written history runs to eight reviews spread between 2007 and 2025. The sharpest of them is from August 2023: a homeowner described weeks of calls, one visit to look at the pool, and nobody coming back. He hired someone else. The thing to settle before booking is the registration and the name on it. Massachusetts' registry shows home improvement contractor number 186089 as expired, and the holder of record is not Bestick at all — it is Blue Horizon Pool Service LLC. BuildZoom lists that same number as expired since May 2023 and inactive, and reports that state consumer-affairs records had it as cancelled at one point. BuildZoom also files the Cohasset address and the same phone number under Blue Horizon Pool Services LLC dba Bestick Pool & Patio, owner Andrew Graham, while the BBB page still shows a sole proprietorship under Earle Bestick. The BBB grade is A+, though the business is not accredited there. For routine water care — a weekly stop, an opening, a closing — the recent reviews point the right way, and the seasonal work is plainly what they are built around. For anything structural, tile, coping or replastering, ask which entity is actually contracting for the job, who owns it now, and whether that registration has been renewed. Given the 2023 complaint, it is also fair to ask how they handle a call that comes in mid-season.
The best pool company out there in the area. Old school customer service values, quality service, elite results. New management since 2016, and things have improved a lot. The owner works hard to make sure everyone gets their pools serviced on time for holidays, parties, events, or just a good sunny weekend. Also willing to go above and beyond for customers to accommodate scheduling and best times for customers. This type of service is a dying breed in a world where you're just a number in big companies. Also, pricing is very reasonable comparatively to other big conglomerates. Book with Bestick.
Best service ever and I am a new customer! I am a long time pool owner highly recommend this company!!!
Bestick does an excellent job with helping me with my pool, closing and opening it, and helping me with anything else I need. Great customer service
Spent weeks calling multiple of times and only once received a call back when they came to look at the pool. Never came back after calling them at least twice a week. The last time I called I said that if they are not interested with doing the work to at least let me know. Needless to say I found someone else and now have a beautiful pool.
Asked many questions they were extremely nice the wife of company was extremely helpful
