South Shore Pool Supply operates out of Cohasset, and it is really two operations under one roof — a walk-in store where people carry in water samples and broken parts, and a crew that comes to the house for openings, closings, weekly maintenance and equipment work. The service side is what most reviewers write about, and openings come up constantly. A June 2026 customer said a month of dread about algae and broken equipment evaporated and the water was clear within five days; another, writing in June 2024, described a technician named Nick walking him through the system and the equipment locations before starting, and the family swimming four days later. Equipment is the other recurring theme. A June 2026 reviewer had a pool heater replaced, said the price was quoted up front and the schedule held, and that the company lined up a gas plumber and came back afterward to confirm everything ran. Hot tubs get the same treatment: in December 2025, a customer whose tub quit heating during a cold snap had a technician out to diagnose it and back the next day with the part. The store counter earns its own share. In July 2025 a customer brought in a Polaris cleaner that another retailer had left sitting for weeks; the staff called the manufacturer, established it was still under warranty, and had a new motor in it in fifteen minutes. Two 2026 complaints deserve a straight look, because both are recent and both are specific. One customer said a pool and spa opening dragged on for 11 days and ran to nearly $1,800, and that a previously used service company, brought back in, found the returns and valves configured backwards and the UV and ozone equipment set incorrectly; $200 was credited back. A second said flatly that the company charged four times over for a single cleaning and that its invoices were not honest. Get the season's scope and price in writing first, then check the bill against it.
