A carpenter who had just replaced a garage and built himself a bedroom and an office wrote in 2025 that blueboard and plastering is a talent he does not have and does not want. He called Blue Fox; a representative was out the next day with a fair estimate given on site. Getting someone to turn up is half of what customers keep describing here.
Blue Fox Home Improvement works out of Revere and describes itself as a residential improvement contractor doing framing, siding, finish carpentry, painting, additions and renovations, with 13 years behind it. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active and its Better Business Bureau grade is an A-. Farley, the owner, is the name in most reviews — quoting the job, staying in contact during it, and in one April 2026 account making regular appearances on site to check the work against what was agreed.
Water is a recurring reason people call. A bathroom ceiling with a smell and a small leak in 2025: two of the crew the next day, ceiling down, the source upstairs dealt with, insulation replaced, ceiling back up and painted. A breezeway in 2025 whose sheathing, framing and roof all needed repair, quoted on the spot. A bathroom and kitchen ceiling rebuilt after water damage in January 2026. An apartment repaired the day after the call in 2025.
The rest ranges wide, across accounts from 2024 to this summer: siding on a whole house in June 2026, an addition the same month, a kitchen redone from cabinetry and flooring through tile and countertops in February 2026, windows replaced with new trim in January 2026, an in-law suite in March 2025, deck work in August 2025, molding around garage doors finished same-day in May 2025, a kitchen table refinished in March 2025. A separate arm handles junk removal and cleaning — an apartment cleared in January 2026, a garage emptied and swept in September 2025.
Two customers came away unhappy, and both accounts are specific. In January 2026 one wrote that two storm doors were installed badly — one upside down, the bar coming off the other within a month — that a floating floor was glued down when it should not have been, and that calls went unreturned until someone new took over the account. In November 2025 another hired the company on 29 October to repair a window and wall with water damage; the problem turned out bigger than anticipated, and Farley told them to file an insurance claim for it.
