Replacing bathrooms in old houses is work Bonney Building customers have described in detail. In a January 2025 Thumbtack review, a returning customer said Dan replaced two 1960s bathrooms in their 200-year-old house and expanded one for a soaking tub and spa area. They described stripping layers of earlier construction, shoring up old floor joists, and preserving the house's historic character. Another January 2025 reviewer said Dan had remodeled two bathrooms the previous year and had been part of the team that remodeled their kitchen a few years earlier. Their house dated to 1802. They praised his craftsmanship and said he arrived when promised. Bonney Building is based in East Sandwich; its website describes an owner-operated business run by Dan Bonney, offering custom remodeling, finish carpentry, drafting and design collaboration, additions, and renovations. Customers writing in 2025 also praised the way Dan handled smaller home projects. An October Google reviewer described tricky items on a work list, saying he was responsive, punctual and completed the work on time. A January Thumbtack reviewer said he explained options and recommendations, charged fair quotes, and completed agreed work without unexpected additions. In November 2025, a Google customer said Dan had carried out upgrades at both their home and office building. A January 2026 reviewer said they had hired Bonney Building several times and praised both the workmanship and pricing. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The company says it has 25 years in business, while its Thumbtack profile carries different history labels: a bio claiming 23 years of experience and a separate badge saying established in 2023 with three years in business. Those labels leave the company's founding date unclear. Thumbtack also lists construction supervisor number 084531; that is a directory claim.

We've used Bonney Building several times now. Each time has been a great experience. Dan's workmanship is excellent and the price as always fair.
Dan Bonney is one of those rare contactors who does excellent work at a very fair price, and shows up!!! He has performed upgrades at my home and at my office building. He is talented and thorough. Dan is a professional and meticulous. He knows Cape Cod and values homeowners.
I asked a few friends for a contractor referral and was given Dan’s name. I didn’t have an overwhelming amount of work but some tricky items to check off my list. Dan was very responsive, always on time and he easily worked out the kinks of my request. His work was very professional and completed on time. Finding all of this in a contractor is not always easy on the Cape. I would highly recommend him for whatever size job you have. We are continuing to work on my list, so I am sure I will be back to give Dan and Bonney Building a great review.
Dan is knowledgeable and has always provided high quality work on my home. He takes the time to explain options and recommendations based on the project needing attention. He then delivers one percent on the agreed work. No unexpected add ons..and his quotes are very fair and reasonable. Dan is honest and honorable! As an added bonus if Dan says he will be at my house on a given day and time of day, he shows up! Bonney Building is an excellent choice!…
Great attention to detail. This was the 2nd time we used him. He will be our go to person for all future projects.
